The Evaluation Company Unveils VisaKey: A New Certification for Foreign Nurses

The Evaluation Company Launches VisaKey

In a significant advancement for foreign nurses seeking to practice in the United States, The Evaluation Company (TEC) recently launched VisaKey, a specialized certification service. This initiative follows their recent approval from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to issue Healthcare Worker Certificates, a vital component in the occupational visa application process.

VisaKey is designed to assist foreign nurses by verifying their education, training, licensure, and English language proficiency, ensuring it meets U.S. standards. This certification is mandatory for both Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) as they navigate through the complex U.S. immigration process. With this new service, TEC aims to streamline the necessary steps for nurses who aspire to live and work in the U.S.

Mukul Bakhshi, the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer at TEC, expressed the importance of this achievement, stating, "Earning USCIS approval to issue Healthcare Worker Certificates is a significant milestone for TEC, and we pursued it with a commitment to better serving the nursing profession." The launch of VisaKey embodies TEC's dedication to improving access to high-quality credentialing in a field that directly impacts the healthcare system.

Dr. Jasper Erwin Tolarba, a prominent nurse leader and Chair of TEC’s Professional Nursing Advisory Group (PNAG), emphasized the broad implications of VisaKey. According to Dr. Tolarba, this initiative will not only enhance nursing workforce mobility but also address long-standing hurdles that internationally educated nurses face in credentialing and migration. He noted that the platform has the capability to strengthen global health systems by facilitating the integration of Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) into areas where they are critically needed.

The USCIS's approval of TEC places it among just four organizations nationwide authorized to issue these crucial certificates for nurses. This new player in the market, VisaKey, has been structured to prioritize effective communication with applicants. Daniel Kutzin, the Chief Operating Officer of TEC, commented, "We built VisaKey to be the certification experience that applicants have always deserved. Every decision has been made with the nurse's experience in mind, preparing us to serve them efficiently from day one."

In addition to VisaKey, TEC provides a Nursing Course Analysis (NCA), offering an in-depth evaluation of nursing coursework recognized by 17 state boards of nursing. This combination of services is ideal for those who need the VisaKey certification for immigration and an NCA for their state licensing purposes.

Founded in 1986, The Evaluation Company specializes in evaluating foreign academic credentials and providing verification services that are vital for university admissions, professional licensing, immigration, and employment. As a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluations Services (NACES), TEC is trusted by over 90% of U.S. educational institutions and licensing boards, maintaining partnerships with thousands of schools, agencies, and institutions across the nation.
