Easy Spirit's 'Move for Pink' Initiative: Steps Toward Breast Cancer Awareness
Easy Spirit's Move for Pink Initiative: Steps Toward a Cure
For over six years, Easy Spirit has dedicated itself to combating breast cancer through its ongoing Move for Pink program. This initiative highlights a commitment to women, honoring those who inspire the brand every day. As part of this mission, Easy Spirit has collaborated with Shoes for a Cure, which has successfully raised nearly $65 million thus far. This funding has been vital in supporting breast cancer research organizations across the United States, transforming shoe donations into essential resources for life-saving research.
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, Easy Spirit is amplifying its support with the introduction of the limited-edition Move for Pink Maelie Sneaker. Priced at $99, this sneaker features the brand's EMOVE technology, ensuring all-day comfort and cushioning for wearers. Moreover, Easy Spirit commits to donating at least $25,000 to support the groundbreaking research efforts of Dr. Lisa Newman, who works tirelessly through her association with Shoes for a Cure. This sneaker also forms part of the extended Denise Austin Collection, emphasizing style while contributing to a noble cause.
Denise Austin, a celebrated fitness expert and spokesperson for Easy Spirit, expressed her heartfelt connection to the initiative: “I’m deeply honored to be part of an initiative that’s so close to my heart. I move for my niece, a breast cancer survivor, and for the millions of others impacted by this disease.” Austin advocates for the physical and emotional benefits of movement, underscoring its significance not only for personal health but also for combating the psychological toll of cancer treatments. Austing encourages healthy movement practices to lessen treatment side effects, including fatigue and depression.
Moreover, Austin will spearhead a unique workout event at the Pledge for Pink gathering in Greenwich, Connecticut, on October 1st, marking the commencement of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This event aims to raise both awareness and funds for breast cancer support.
Shanya Perera, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Marc Fisher Footwear, emphasizes the community aspect of the Move for Pink program: “For over six years, our Easy Spirit Move For Pink program has supported a cause that truly resonates with our community. We believe movement transcends the physical; it strengthens both body and mind, fostering connection and empowering us to support others.” This sentiment rings true, aligning with the collective mission to increase awareness and promote access to healthcare solutions.
Dr. Lisa Newman expresses her gratitude for the funding, stating, “Shoes for a Cure helps fund education and patient navigation services through my Breast Programs in New York and in regions across Africa, where we’re leading groundbreaking genetic research.” Each dollar raised and every sneaker sold symbolizes a step forward in their goal to support breast cancer patients and work toward a complete eradication of the disease.
The Maelie sneaker, part of the limited-edition release, will be available starting October 1, 2025, via EasySpirit.com. With every purchase, customers contribute to life-saving research, supporting efforts to secure progress toward a potential cure.
