Barilla Celebrates Domenica Italiana During Formula 1 Weekend in Austin
Barilla Invites Austinites to Celebrate Domenica Italiana
Barilla®, the renowned pasta brand and official Pasta Partner of Formula 1®, is set to transform the experience of the Grand Prix weekend in Austin by embracing the rich tradition of Domenica Italiana—the cherished Italian ritual of sharing pasta with loved ones.
In a culinary blitz, a total of 5,513 complimentary pasta meal kits will be distributed throughout downtown Austin from October 16-19, coinciding with the excitement of the Formula 1 MSC Cruises United States Grand Prix. Each meal kit represents one meter of the Circuit of the Americas™, offering fans an opportunity to engage in a communal culinary experience while enjoying the thrill of the race. These kits come packed with Barilla pasta, delicious pesto options, and recipe guidance that aim to provide an authentic taste of Italy to every household.
To elevate this initiative, Barilla is launching the Barilla Bodega at the H-E-B store in Pflugerville, Texas. The Bodega will be operational from 1 PM to 6 PM CT on Thursday and Friday, and from 11 AM to 4 PM CT on Saturday and Sunday. Here, Austinites can purchase two boxes of Barilla Classic pasta and receive one free, all while stocks last. It’s the perfect occasion for locals to explore and indulge in the wholesome flavors of Italian cuisine that Barilla champions.
Additionally, Barilla will be seen on the streets with a fleet of eye-catching, Italian-themed motorized scooters, navigating through Austin to distribute meal kits on a first-come, first-served basis. The focus remains on fostering connections among family and friends—the essence of Domenica Italiana. As a special attraction, a Barilla scooter will be stationed at Fareground Austin (111 Congress Avenue) to engage with fans and capture memories with photo opportunities.
Throughout the Grand Prix weekend, Barilla does not stop at meal kits. The company will also feature a Lasagna Bar at the Circuit of the Americas Fan Field, offering fans a choice between savory Bolognese and vegetarian lasagna for just $16. This highlights Barilla’s commitment to delivering a taste of Italy alongside the exhilarating atmosphere of Formula 1 racing.
As part of the festivities leading up to the race, Barilla aims to showcase its classic recipe portfolio through specified meals at various popular Austin restaurants. A collaboration with twenty local dining establishments will showcase exclusive dishes made with Barilla's Al Bronzo pasta, designed to enhance each meal with its unique texture and flavors.
From October 16 through the 21, patrons can experience limited-time offerings at participating establishments, including 68 Degrees Kitchen, Asti Trattoria, and Corinne, among others. Furthermore, patrons visiting the Barilla Bodega will receive valuable recipe inspiration cards and the chance to engage with Barilla’s culinary legacy.
