The Fourth Edition of the International Supply Chain Expo in China

On June 22, 2026, Beijing hosted the opening of the fourth annual International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE). This year's expo attracted approximately 1,300 representatives from governments, businesses, academic institutions, and international organizations across over 100 countries and regions. The event highlights the global supply chain's importance in fostering economic collaboration and partnership in an increasingly interconnected world.

Prominent figures who spoke at the event included South African Vice President Paul Mashatile, Secretary-General of the International Chamber of Commerce John W.H. Denton AO, and CITIC Group Chairman Xi Guohua. Notably, Jennifer Jordan-Saifi, the CEO of the Sustainable Markets Initiative, conveyed a congratulatory message from His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom, emphasizing the significance of the expo in today's economic landscape.

Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), underscored that this fourth installment of CISCE aims to promote sustainable economic growth while strengthening international cooperation in industrial and supply chains. Ren reiterated the CCPIT's commitment to provide robust platforms for global companies to enhance trade and comprehensive support services, which, in turn, strengthens partnerships across industrial and supply chains, contributing to a more open global economy.

One of the highlights of the opening ceremony was the joint announcement of the 4th Beijing Initiative by the CCPIT and leaders from the global business community. The theme of the expo, “Connecting the World for a Shared Future,” resonates with its objectives of fostering collaboration and enhancing investment links. The event garners support from five international organizations, including the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and the International Chamber of Commerce.

Australia served as the honored guest country for this year's expo, while the French region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and the Italian region of Liguria made their first appearances as guest regions. Additionally, China’s Anhui and Hainan provinces participated as honorary provinces representing local interests.

This year's expo featured an expansive display covering six vital supply chains: digital technology, advanced manufacturing, sustainable agriculture, healthy lifestyles, smart vehicles, and clean energy. Moreover, a dedicated exhibition space focused on supply chain services was established, showcasing innovations from 676 leading companies and outstanding small and medium-sized enterprises and industry organizations spanning across 85 countries and regions, alongside international organizations.

The event provides significant networking and collaborative opportunities for attendees looking to explore new frontiers in supply chain management, fostering connections that can lead to advantageous partnerships and innovations in the sector. In summary, the fourth International Supply Chain Expo emphasizes a collective effort towards sustainable growth, proving critical in setting a unified path for global trade and industry partnerships.
