Global Healthspan Summit 2025: Pioneering Future of Healthy Living
On February 4-5, 2025, the Hevolution Foundation will be hosting the second Global Healthspan Summit (GHS) at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This event aims to convene over 150 prominent speakers from around the globe, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Egypt, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Singapore, Spain, and Saudi Arabia. This anticipated gathering will feature more than 80 sessions across six stages, bringing together international leaders in research, science, healthcare, and the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.
The summit seeks to address one of humanity's most pressing challenges—the rapid growth of the aging population—and to explore innovations in the field of geroscience and healthspan. As the global average life expectancy continues to rise, there remains a notable discrepancy between overall lifespan and 'healthspan,' defined as the duration of life spent in good health. Currently, the average healthspan lags by approximately 10 years, with worldwide life expectancy estimated at 73.4 years while healthspan is around 63.7 years.
By 2050, the United Nations projects that the population aged 60 and over will double, leading to individuals aged 65 and above constituting 1 in 6 persons globally, a significant increase from 1 in 10 in 2021. This demographic transition is set to be a focal point of the GHS 2025, and it will offer a unique opportunity for stakeholders to gather insights into pioneering research and emerging technologies that are shaping the future of healthspan science.
Dr. Mehmood Khan, CEO of the Hevolution Foundation, emphasizes the summit's role as a platform for collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
