GLOBIS School Celebrates the Graduation of an International MBA Class of 2026

On August 23rd, the GLOBIS School of Management in Tokyo conducted its graduation ceremony for the Full-Time English MBA program for the class of 2026. This year marks the 13th graduating class, comprising 56 students from 22 different countries around the world.

In his commencement speech, President Yoshito Hori encouraged the graduates to maintain a sense of mission. He emphasized the importance of contemplating one's purpose in life, urging them to find meaning beyond the pursuit of wealth, honor, and power. Hori's words highlighted five key perspectives: global thinking, history, philosophy, integrity, and a sense of mission. He inspired the graduates to utilize the skills, networks, and aspirations they cultivated at GLOBIS to become visionary leaders who will create and transform society.

Two graduating students delivered speeches on behalf of their classmates during the ceremony. Elymar Sandoval Apao from the Philippines, who received the Academic Excellence Award, reflected on the importance of believing in one's own potential. He stated, "The most significant lesson we learned this year is the power of believing in our possibilities. The experiences and knowledge gained at GLOBIS will undoubtedly enhance our respective paths ahead. Even if our purpose is unclear now, let us cherish our potential and continually question our aspirations. Each of us should pursue our passions and instigate change in society in our unique ways."

Shira Segal from Israel, the other student representative, spoke about the significance of making conscious choices in life. She remarked, "Our lives are shaped by the cumulative decisions we make for ourselves. When we resist the influence of others and pursue paths we choose, our journeys better our lives. We must observe situations without preconceived notions and engage with what truly matters to us. By keeping the desire to assist others alive and pursuing our aspirations, we can create fulfilling and authentic lives through each choice we make."

The GLOBIS Full-Time MBA Program was launched in 2012 following the introduction of the Part-Time Program in 2009. Since then, the combined total of graduates from both programs has reached 1,106. Notably, over 90% of graduates from the Full-Time Program hail from international backgrounds. This diverse environment fosters the development of business leaders prepared to thrive globally.
