Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Qibitech Initiate Robot Automation Testing for Serving Meals

Automation in Meal Serving: A Collaborative Pilot Project

Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Qibitech, a robotics startup, have embarked on an exciting pilot project at the KAWARUBA social innovation co-creation hub located in Tokyo. This initiative aims to utilize mobile robots equipped with a remote management system to automate the process of meal serving in a café environment. The partnership is geared towards exploring the efficacy and challenges of robotic solutions in enhancing operational efficiency and adding value in real-world settings.

Objectives of the Pilot Project

The primary goal of this collaboration is to co-create robotic solutions with Kawasaki Heavy Industries that can seamlessly operate in environments frequented by the public. This includes testing various aspects of robotic systems designed to assist in tasks ranging from meal delivery to other operational efficiencies in stores. Specifically, the pilot will use Qibitech's HATS (Highly Autonomous Teleoperation Service) integrated with small-scale, cost-effective mobile robots, referred to as the
