Sobaiichi Celebrates 15 Remarkable Years with Exclusive Dishes



Sobaiichi, operated by JR East Cross Station Foods Company in Shibuya, Tokyo, is thrilled to announce its upcoming 15th anniversary celebration, coinciding with the introduction of unique culinary offerings that commemorate this milestone. From July 16, 2026, Sobaiichi will launch a second phase of its anniversary initiative, additionally themed around the beloved character, the Suica Penguin.

Exciting Limited-Time Offers


1. Spicy Noodle Dish with Suica Penguin Toppings


As a special tribute to its anniversary, Sobaiichi will be offering a spicy noodle dish featuring a Suica Penguin topping. Limited to 1,500 servings, this dish, known as the 'Suica Penguin Grilled Kamaboko with Spicy Nori-Dipped Soba,' will be available exclusively at eight locations including:
  • - Ekute Akabane
  • - Perie Kaihin Makuhari
  • - Kanda
  • - Ebisu
  • - Ekute Akihabara
  • - Takasaki
  • - Shin-Urayasu
  • - Shibuya New South Ticket Gate

The dish will be sold starting July 16, 2026, at 10:00 am, and will remain available until the specially made grilled kamaboko sheets run out. Priced at 620 yen (tax included), this delicious delicacy is sure to delight soba enthusiasts.

2. Special Kamaboko Design


Additionally, Sobaiichi plans to change the design of the kamaboko served atop their regular soba dishes to feature the Suica Penguin motif. 38,000 servings of these specially designed kamaboko will be available starting from July 24, 2026, at Sobaiichi's 17 locations, excluding the Sobaiichi Niboshi at Ekute Ueno.

Seasonal Treats to Brighten Your Summer


In anticipation of summer, Sobaiichi will also roll out several seasonal dishes designed to refresh and rejuvenate:
  • - Yamagata Dashi Neve-Toro Soba - Available from July 1 to September 2, this dish showcases a combination of fresh summer vegetables in a light broth with a smooth texture perfect for the heat, all for 700 yen (tax included).
  • - Spicy Nori Soba offered from July 16 to September 16 is another must-try. With its uniquely crafted spicy sauce enriched with pepper and livened up with a refreshing bite of grated daikon, for 620 yen (tax included), it's sure to keep appetites at bay during warm days.

Enjoy Extra Noodles for Less!


To further enhance the dining experience, Sobaiichi will offer a temporary promotion allowing patrons to upgrade their noodles to a larger portion (an additional serving) for only 150 yen (tax inclusive) from July 1 to September 16— a discount of 50 yen from the regular price of 200 yen!

Exciting Campaigns and Events


Participating in an engaging campaign, starting July 1, customers can enjoy Ibaraki-produced Yasato Natto by sharing their dining moments on social media using the hashtags #これがやさとの恵みだ and #PR for a chance to win sets of the enhanced natto.
