The Story Behind the Project

Miyakejima has a rich yet challenging history. Following the volcanic eruption of Mt. Oyama in 2000, the island was evacuated for five years. The resilient residents returned and invested in rebuilding their community from scratch. Among the local agricultural efforts, they cultivated the "Tropika Maru" passion fruit, which thrives in the island's volcanic soil and the warm Kuroshio current. Each fruit is carefully nurtured, becoming a symbol of rebirth and hope for the community.

This product is not just a beverage; it is a medium through which the story of Miyakejima is shared. The passion fruit “Tropika Maru” is a certified brand, ensuring that only produce meeting strict cultivation and shipping standards can bear its name.

The trademark application was submitted in 2024, and on August 14, 2025, the group received formal registration as a collective trademark, reinforcing the brand's value and market identity.
