Faneuil Hall Marketplace Kicks Off the Holiday Spirit with Annual Tree Lighting Celebration
Faneuil Hall Marketplace Welcomes the Holidays
The festive season is officially ushered in at the iconic Faneuil Hall Marketplace located in Boston. This year, the beloved venue is excited to announce its annual holiday tree lighting celebration, which is set to take place on Saturday, November 22, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with the spectacular lighting of the tree occurring at 6:00 PM.
As attendees gather to celebrate, they will be entertained by the cheerful sounds of the season, evoking the warm holiday spirit that unites the community. Making this event even more special, Santa Claus himself and Miss Boston 2025 will be present, bringing joy to families and children alike. In a truly heartwarming gesture, a child from Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island will assist in flipping the switch that illuminates the magnificent tree, which stands at an impressive 50 feet tall and is adorned with over one mile of lights and 900 ornaments.
This year’s tree was hand-selected from the picturesque Cadillac in Northern Michigan, thanks to the Egan Acres Tree Farm, a family-owned business that has generously contributed to the event. Decorated by Red Nose Holiday Lights, the tree promises to be a stunning centerpiece for the festivities.
Faneuil Hall Marketplace embodies the spirit of community and togetherness during this holiday event, with representatives from Make-A-Wish providing insight into their mission to grant life-changing wishes to local children facing critical illnesses. The organization has brought joy and hope to nearly 11,000 children in Massachusetts and Rhode Island since its inception over 40 years ago.
The celebratory atmosphere will be enriched by live performances showcasing the diversity and vibrancy of Boston's performing arts scene, including appearances by the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, North End Music and Performing Arts Center, BoSoma Dance Company, Boston Children's Chorus, Boston Ballet's Urban Nutcracker, and The Femmes. Radio host and Channel 7 News Anchor Amaka Ubaka will return as emcee for the second consecutive year, ensuring that the event remains lively and engaging.
Attendees can also savor delightful seasonal treats, such as hot chocolate from Madame Chervilo and sweet selections from Lizzie's Bakery. The organizers encourage visitors to arrive early to find a good spot and fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere before the grand tree lighting.
The event is entirely free and aims to foster connections within the community while celebrating the spirit of giving. As the festivities unfold, guests will have opportunities to interact with wish representatives and learn how they can help make wishes come true for local children.
