At the recent Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, Huawei introduced its Digital Training 2.0 Solution during the forum focused on cultivating ICT talent to amplify digital education. This innovative solution is designed to assist universities in enhancing their capacity to nurture ICT talent, thereby meeting the growing demands for skilled professionals worldwide.
Empowering Tomorrow's Technologists
Li Junfeng, Vice President of Huawei and CEO of the Global Public Sector BU, emphasized that intelligent technologies are accelerating digital productivity, positioning the intelligent economy as a primary growth engine. Recognizing the vital role of education in this transition, Huawei aims to redefine educational outcomes through digital and intelligent employability frameworks.
Experts from various educational sectors participated in the event. Ramon Iriarte, a senior education specialist from UNESCO, along with Soledad Patiño, coordinator at the UNESCO Global Skills Academy, highlighted the significance of the ICT Academy, which collaborates with Huawei to provide quality training to approximately 300,000 students annually.
Comprehensive Learning Solutions
Frank Huang, CTO of Huawei's global public sector education division, outlined the expansive offerings of the Digital Training 2.0 Solution. This comprehensive program provides courses across 22 technical fields including artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and cloud computing, alongside project management training. The initiative also includes overseas training labs across 11 technical disciplines, enhancing practical learning experiences for students.
Professor Justin Mendes from the Shenyang Institute of Technology described the collaboration between his institution and Huawei in creating an international industrial college. This partnership fosters a progressive talent cultivation path, promoting high-quality job placements for students. Meanwhile, Daniele Cesarini, technology manager at CINECA, shared insights from Italy on building infrastructure for supercomputer research, illustrating the global reach and application of Huawei's educational programs.
Flora Ng, Chief Information Officer at the University of Hong Kong, discussed how Huawei's smart campus solutions utilize Wi-Fi 7 technologies. This advancement optimizes wireless networking, enhancing application performance and offering a more personalized experience for both students and educators.
Tea Wang, director at the International Affairs Office of Quanzhou Vocational and Technical University, introduced a joint innovation-industry college and training center established with Huawei. The center has successfully certified 790 students in various ICT disciplines as of 2024, showcasing the tangible outcomes of Huawei’s training initiatives.
A Collective Vision for Intelligent Education
Huawei has launched a range of “1+3” scenario-based solutions, including Digital Training, Smart Classroom, Scientific Research Computing, and Smart Campus, which are now operational in over 120 countries and regions. These initiatives have already benefited more than 7,800 clients in the educational sector, reinforcing Huawei's commitment to deepening partnerships with global stakeholders.
