Ford and onX Team Up to Provide Off-Road Navigation for Owners

Ford and onX Offer Off-Road Navigation for Adventure Seekers

In a recent collaboration, Ford Motor Company is enhancing the outdoor experiences of its vehicle owners by partnering with onX, a leading name in digital outdoor navigation. This initiative is set to provide eligible Ford owners with a full year of complimentary access to various onX applications specifically designed for outdoor exploration.

With a diverse lineup of vehicles, including the tough Explorer Tremor and the powerful F-150 Raptor R, Ford has established itself as a brand synonymous with adventure. This partnership signals a commitment not just to delivering well-engineered vehicles, but also to enriching the adventure of their drivers.

Enhancing the Outdoor Experience

The outdoor recreation participation rate is climbing steadily, and both Ford and onX are keen to take advantage of this trend. Andrew Willard, the General Manager of onX Offroad, expressed that the adventure and off-roading spaces are witnessing remarkable growth, urging the need for reliable navigation solutions that can meet the needs of outdoor enthusiasts effectively.

From today, Ford owners in the U.S. who have vehicles from the 2017 model year or newer equipped with an active modem can take advantage of this offer, provided they are new customers with onX. This free access includes memberships for onX Offroad, onX Hunt, onX Backcountry Elite, and onX Fish Midwest, creating an invaluable asset for those wanting to explore the wilds.

The onX Advantage

The onX Offroad application provides access to an expansive network of over 650,000 miles of trails, complete with difficulty ratings, photos, and detailed descriptions. This enables users to confidently traverse paths less traveled and connect with nature in numerous ways.

For those with an interest in hunting, onX Hunt helps navigate both public and private land boundaries, featuring advanced scouting tools for planning successful outings. The onX Backcountry app further broadens these options, offering maps curated by professionals, detailing over one million hiking, biking, skiing, and climbing routes designed to lead adventurers deep into untouched terrains. Additionally, the onX Fish app allows anglers to discover new fishing spots, locate verified access points, and stay updated on local regulations. Currently, this service is available in the Midwest, with plans to expand.

Seamless Integration with Technology

The onX applications are designed to integrate smoothly with technologies like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing users to display maps directly on their vehicle's screen. This level of integration offers a unique advantage as users can plan their routes ahead of time, explore nearby adventures spontaneously, and stay on course even in areas with poor cell service by downloading offline maps.

Mike Aragon, Ford's President of Integrated Services, remarked on this partnership, emphasizing the shared goal of empowering adventurers at all skill levels to explore the great outdoors. This collaboration is just one example of Ford's commitment to personalizing the driving experience through technological innovation.
