FP Movement Sets the Stage for 6th Annual Festive 5K to Empower Girls Across America
On Saturday, November 7, FP Movement will host its much-anticipated sixth annual Festive 5K, an event dedicated to uniting communities across the United States. This nationwide run aims to support Girls Inc., a nonprofit organization focused on empowering the next generation of girls to be strong, smart, and bold. With the participation of runners from 16 cities, including major hubs such as New York City, Chicago, and Atlanta, the Festive 5K embodies a spirit of community and collective action.
FP Movement, a growing activewear brand under the URBN umbrella, has been a proud partner of Girls Inc. since 2016. Over the years, the collaboration has made significant strides in mentoring young girls, providing donations and programming aimed at instilling confidence and resilience. To date, FP Movement's contributions have amounted to 1% of their daily net proceeds, along with the entirety of Thanksgiving Day's net proceeds being donated to the cause. The partnership has successfully executed over 90 community events, delivered over 30,000 units of apparel to girls and their families, and provided more than 3,000 hours of wellness and mentorship programming.
As FP Movement celebrates nearly a decade of this impactful partnership, the upcoming Festive 5K will shift to a donation-based model for participants. This means that the funds raised through the event will go directly to benefit Girls Inc. The event encourages new and experienced runners alike to lace up their sneakers, rally their community, and run for a cause that inspires young girls to pursue their dreams.
Each attendee will receive exclusive merchandise from the Girls Inc. x FP Movement collaboration at check-in, offered on a first-come, first-served basis. For those interested in participating, registration is completely free, but donations are welcomed and encouraged. More details, including the start time of 9 AM for each city, can be found on FP Movement’s event website.
FP Movement has carved a unique niche in redefining the activewear space since its inception in 2012, blending functionality with fashion in its offerings for various activities such as hiking, running, and skiing. Emerging as an independent brand in 2020, FP Movement opened its first standalone store in Los Angeles and now boasts a total of 99 locations across the country. Additionally, they leverage online platforms to reach a wider audience, including partnerships with major retailers like DICK'S Sporting Goods.
Through the Festive 5K, FP Movement affirms its commitment to the mission of Girls Inc., showcasing that physical movement can be a powerful tool for community engagement and social change. This year’s event serves not just as a fundraiser but as a celebration of sisterhood, empowerment, and collective movement, encouraging participants to embrace their roles as advocates for young girls everywhere. Join FP Movement in making a difference—one step at a time.
