FocalPoint and STMicroelectronics Join Forces for Advanced GNSS Solutions



FocalPoint, a leading British software company specializing in GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) for automotive, wearable, and smartphone applications, has announced a significant commercial agreement with STMicroelectronics. This partnership marks a pivotal step towards creating highly reliable vehicle positioning systems, especially in GNSS-challenging environments.

Originally introduced in May 2025, this collaboration has now evolved to commercialize their joint offering: S-GNSS® Auto integrated with STMicroelectronics' Teseo hardware. This innovative solution aims to overcome the limitations faced by traditional GNSS systems, particularly in urban canyons and densely forested areas where position accuracy is often compromised.

Enhancements for Urban Navigation



The integration of FocalPoint's patented Supercorrelation® technology with STMicroelectronics' technology has notably enhanced GNSS reliability. The recent tests demonstrated that the S-GNSS® Auto software provides significantly improved positioning accuracy compared to standard commercial solutions, particularly in complex environments where traditional GNSS signals struggle.

With this solution, automotive OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) will be able to effortlessly upgrade Teseo devices through a straightforward firmware update. This means they can achieve enhanced positioning performance without substantial investment in new hardware—making it an economical choice.
