Wells Fargo Donates $75K to Support Tampa Bay Small Businesses Affected by Hurricane Relief
On December 17, 2024, Prospera announced an impactful contribution of $75,000 from Wells Fargo aimed at providing essential hurricane relief to small businesses in the Greater Tampa Bay area affected by Hurricane Milton. This significant donation follows a previous grant of $260,000 from Wells Fargo, earmarked for supporting Prospera's year-round initiatives across Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina. For many years, Wells Fargo has been a steadfast supporter of Prospera, demonstrating their commitment to uplifting small business communities.
Augusto Sanabria, the President and CEO of Prospera, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the long-standing partnership with Wells Fargo, stating, "We are incredibly fortunate to count Wells Fargo among our annual funders, volunteers, partners, and champions of our mission. Their sustained support enables us to reach more entrepreneurs, thereby ensuring their businesses can thrive and contribute positively to their communities."
Recognizing the toll of the hurricane season on local small business owners, Linda Hague, Senior Philanthropy and Community Impact Consultant at Wells Fargo for West Florida, emphasized the importance of collaboration with Prospera. "We understand that numerous small enterprises in West Florida have faced setbacks due to the storms this season. We are proud to partner with Prospera to identify those business owners who can benefit from these grants, complementing the technical assistance Prospera will provide to support recovery efforts."
Prospera has proactively pinpointed clients along Florida's west coast and central regions who have experienced substantial damages from Hurricane Milton. The relief includes monetary grants directly from Wells Fargo, and corresponding technical assistance from Prospera, which will be implemented in the forthcoming months. This support aims to aid business owners in their recovery efforts and help them build resilience against future disasters.
Fabian Yepez, Prospera's Regional Vice President, highlighted the organization's dedication to strengthening small businesses as they navigate adversities. "Wells Fargo's generous grant will significantly support our mission to empower small enterprises impacted by Hurricane Milton. Together, we strive to foster a more robust and prosperous future for our communities."
