A Memorable Night at Tokyo Racecourse
This year, the "Tokyo Racecourse Fireworks 2026" event took place with a breathtaking theme dedicated to the 50th anniversary of renowned artist Shogo Hamada. On this special night, over 25,000 fans filled the stands of the Tokyo Racecourse located in Fuchu City, Tokyo, effectively selling out the venue. The spectacular fireworks entertainment not only marked Hamada's five-decade career but also brought together fans of various generations, uniting them in a celebration of music and pyrotechnics.
The event kicked off with a vibrant performance of "Hikari to Kage no Kisetsu" (The Season of Light and Shadow), a track from Hamada's 2005 album, "My First Love." As the introduction played, magnificent fireworks lit up the night sky, filling the air with exhilaration and cheers from the crowd.
Following this opening act, the audience was serenaded by a series of Hamada's timeless classics. Songs like "Kanashimi wa Yuki no Yō ni" (Sadness is Like Snow), the theme song from a 1992 TV drama, and "Mō Hitotsu no Doyōbi" (Another Saturday), featured on the 1985 album "DOWN BY THE MAINSTREET," echoed through the venue, prompting attendees to sing along or listen in rapt attention as music and fireworks synchronized beautifully.
The highlight of the night came when the audience erupted in excitement for "MONEY," another classic from the 1984 album "DOWN BY THE MAINSTREET." The driving rhythm of the song paired with an impressive array of fireworks elevated the atmosphere to new heights, drawing thunderous applause and cheers. The fireworks were crafted by world-class pyrotechnicians, who orchestrated a stunning display that traversed the 2-kilometer racecourse, captivating the audience with their artistry.
As the event neared its conclusion, the title track "J.BOY" from the 1986 album took center stage along with another grand fireworks show. As the booming fireworks illuminated the sky, long-time fans reflected on their youthful memories associated with Hamada's music, while younger attendees, including children and families, were equally mesmerized by the extraordinary display.
The event attracted not only devoted fans who had supported Hamada throughout the years but also many families with children and younger generations, creating a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere. The combination of Hamada's beloved songs and the spectacular display of 14,000 fireworks made the night an unforgettable experience. This one-of-a-kind event at the Tokyo Racecourse became a bridge connecting hearts across generations, celebrating 50 years of musical excellence.
