This Year's Work-Life Integration Boosts for Moms
The issue of balancing work and life has reached a turning point where sacrificing one for the other is no longer acceptable. A recent survey conducted by Seeds and Growth Co., Ltd., a consulting company specializing in new graduate recruitment in Japan, targeted 100 full-time working mothers raising preschool or elementary school children. The survey revealed that 74% believe there is a direct correlation between career fulfillment and parenting satisfaction. However, it also found that 76% of respondents had unintentionally put their careers on hold due to life events like childbirth.
Background of the Survey
According to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the labor force participation of women in Japan will increase by 330,000 to 45.4% in 2025. As the number of working women rises, many companies are starting to provide better support systems for balancing work and family. Nevertheless, many women still find themselves in situations where they have to sacrifice either work or family life to maintain balance.
At Seeds and Growth, over half of our consultants are working mothers themselves. These women excel at multitasking, managing work, childcare, and household responsibilities effectively. Our goal is to create a society that recognizes and values the contributions of working mothers so they can flourish both at work and at home.
