The
alter. Tokyo 2025 exhibition marks a first in promoting innovative product design in Japan. Curators from prestigious art institutes such as MoMA and the Pompidou Centre have selected a total of 59 projects led by emerging designers. Mitsubishi Chemical will contribute to the project
POETIC PROTOTYPING - Forms of Invisibility by the design studio POETIC CURIOSITY. This project employs Acrylicite™ combined with a moss eye type anti-reflective film called
Mosmite™ to explore the concept of an “invisible poetic existence.” This installation promises to present a unique design exploiting the characteristics of Acrylicite™.

DESIGN with FOCUS Exhibition Overview
The
DESIGN with FOCUS exhibition features eleven creative teams ranging from designers to architects in their 20s to 40s, aimed at showcasing how they tackle the evolving societal landscape through their work. In the face of rapid digitization and environmental challenges, these creators aim to push boundaries and expand the possibilities of creativity through experimental and unconventional approaches.
Mitsubishi Chemical partakes in this exhibition by supporting a project titled
Light Drenching and
Breath Holding, developed by designers Yoshinori Miyoshi and Yusuke Aonuma of POETIC CURIOSITY. They use Acrylicite™ with
Mosmite™ to create mobile art pieces that subtly react to air flow, capturing the viewers’ attention.

Acrylicite Association Summer Festival 2025, held in August 2025, a creative contest titled the
Ray On Award was held, focusing on acrylic-based creations. The competition included an exploration of designs centered around the theme of “Acrylic Playing Lab (Toys).” Visitors could experience the charm of acrylic in a fun and vibrant exhibition setting, with 21 works submitted and 3 exemplary projects selected:

- A kaleidoscope designed with traditional patterns, featuring interchangeable vibrant cassettes.

- An engaging board game that incorporates octagonal colored pieces, emphasizing tactile comfort.
