Exciting Traffic Safety Festival for Children in Tokyo

The Japan Automobile Federation (JAF) Tokyo branch, led by Director Kazuhiro Kato, is partnering with M Buddy Japan, represented by CEO Moeyama Kameyama, and Gyu Gyu Happy, led by CEO Yuuki Mihara, to organize an interactive traffic safety event titled "Traffic Safety Wakuwaku Festa". This event is set to take place on May 16, 2026, at the Tokyo Innovation Base located in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo.

The main objective of the event is to provide a platform where children can actively learn traffic rules, drawing from JAF's extensive knowledge of traffic safety combined with live music performances and dance stages designed for child participation. This initiative comes in response to the ongoing social issue of traffic accidents involving children. In particular, the preschool age is critical for forming good habits, yet traditional traffic safety education often focuses mainly on lectures, leaving limited opportunities for children to learn actively.

To combat this, the festival is focused on experiential learning enriched with emotions, aiming to solidify traffic safety education that connects to daily behavior. The event will feature:

• - A dynamic stage performance by “Happy Dance Big Brother” Yu-chan, who is known for his success in various child-focused events nationwide, combining live music and dance.
• - JAF-led programs focused on traffic safety, covering themes like traffic signals and crosswalks, offering kids hands-on experience.
• - Issuance of child safety licenses to participants.
• - An engaging experience with the JAF Try Safety with Kids initiative, featuring rides in a special kids service car designed for children weighing 35kg or less who can sit independently.
• - An art workshop themed around various forms of transportation.

The festival promises to be a fun-filled educational experience, allowing children to learn about traffic safety in an enjoyable format alongside live performances and engaging activities. With emphasis on learning through participation, this event is set to foster lasting habits in traffic safety among young attendees. Children in preschool to the first grade and their parents are warmly encouraged to join this enriching experience.
