Mars Incorporated Recognized as One of TIME's Best Companies of 2025
Mars Incorporated Makes TIME's List of Best Companies 2025
In a significant recognition of its endeavors, Mars, Incorporated has been honored with a spot on the inaugural Best Companies in the World 2025 list by TIME and Statista Inc. This accolade, announced on September 10, highlights Mars's excellence across several critical metrics including employee satisfaction, revenue growth, and sustainability transparency.
Long-Standing Tradition of Commitment
Founded over a century ago, Mars has successfully merged continuous growth with a steadfast commitment to operating responsibly. CEO Poul Weihrauch stated, "Being named among the Best Companies in the World acknowledges how we do things at Mars. Our 150,000 associates worldwide have proven their talent, creativity, and operational excellence, helping us create a strong, sustainable company that benefits people, pets, and the planet."
Assessing the Best
The selection process for the TIME Best Companies involved evaluating organizations based on various data points from employee satisfaction rates to financial performance and sustainability efforts. Out of hundreds of thousands of data points, only the top 1,000 companies were recognized for their outstanding success in these areas.
Iconic Brands and Innovations
Mars operates with an estimated value of approximately $55 billion, boasting a portfolio of iconic global brands including ROYAL CANIN®, PEDIGREE®, WHISKAS®, CESAR®, DOVE®, EXTRA®, MM'S®, SNICKERS®, and BEN'S ORIGINAL™. Earlier this year, Mars was also inducted into the AAF Advertising Hall of Fame for its significant contributions to impactful and culturally resonant campaigns, reinforcing its commitment to long-term brand identity and excellence. Furthermore, Mars received 11 Lions at the 2025 Cannes Lions Creativity Festival, including its first Titanium Award for outstanding creative achievement and cultural influence.
Commitment to Employee Well-Being
Mars prioritizes the well-being of its workforce through the Be Well Together framework, which offers programs, benefits, resources, and tools aimed at supporting mental wellness, nutrition, fitness, safety, and more.
Rebecca Snow, Vice President of People and Organization at Mars, highlighted, "This recognition is a tribute to our Associates, who make our mission possible every day. Their experiences are interconnected with our business performance, driving our success. This award represents our commitment to investing in our people, which strengthens both our culture and results."
Sustainable Practices for the Planet
In addition to its focus on employees, Mars aims to create a healthier planet for people and pets alike. The company recently released its Annual Sustainability Report, indicating a notable achievement: they have decoupled carbon emissions from business growth, while their revenue grew over 69%, reaching nearly $55 billion in annual net sales. They also managed to reduce their carbon footprint by 16.4% from the 2015 baseline.
Mars is also actively working on partnerships to promote innovative agricultural practices and deforestation-free supply chains. Their Unreasonable Food™ initiative, in collaboration with the Unreasonable Group, is focused on boosting business innovations around sustainable food systems.
