First e-sports GOMI Event 'eスポGOMI with LIDEAL Aomori' Crowns Team Ishioka as Champion

The First e-sports GOMI Event: A Community Celebration

On December 6, 2025, Aomori marked a significant milestone with the inaugural 'eスポGOMI with LIDEAL Aomori', hosted by the general incorporated association LIDEAL Aomori. This unique event blended competitive gaming with community cleanup efforts, drawing an impressive turnout of 35 teams and a total of 108 participants. The venue for this exciting day was the Hirolo, a community culture exchange hall in Hirosaki City.

What is eスポGOMI?

The eスポGOMI initiative is an innovative approach that merges e-sports with litter collection, promoting environmental awareness through fun and friendly competition. Participants were tasked with collecting as much trash as possible within a specified time frame, with points awarded based on the type and amount of trash collected. This initiative aligns with LIDEAL Aomori’s mission to weave together community, corporate, and individual efforts to shape a sustainable and brighter future.

Event Highlights

The competition kicked off in two rounds, engaging participants from all age groups, from children to adults, in spirited trash collection each pushing themselves to collect the most waste within the time limits. In-between trash gathering, a lively ‘Puyo Puyo’ e-sports tournament was held, creating an atmosphere of excitement and camaraderie.

Winners Announced

The champions of this remarkable event were Team Ishioka, who collected an impressive 5.82 kg of trash and accrued 876 points. Runner-up honors went to 'Limits Breakers' with 3.66 kg and 773 points, while 'Libero 16' claimed third place with 3.740 kg and 540 points. In total, over 65 kg of litter was collected, showcasing the impactful fusion of sports and community service.

Participants' Remarks

Comments from the participants highlighted the engaging experience. The winning team noted that the abundance of bottles and cans overflowing from trash bins played a crucial role in their victory. One participant expressed discomfort at seeing children pick up cigarette butts discarded by adults, emphasizing the need for everyone to adopt better waste disposal habits moving forward.

Words from LIDEAL Aomori

The event organizers, LIDEAL Aomori, expressed their gratitude for the participant turnout, celebrating the record of 108 participants in eスポGOMI history. They are planning to expand the event into three locations across Aomori next year, striving to develop this into an even larger annual event. They also appreciated the support from partner organizations, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in such endeavors.

The event was backed by the eスポGOMI organizing committee, which includes notable partners such as Japan Foundation Sports GOMI Federation and Life Reversal Gaming Inc..
