BCTCares Foundation Achieves Record Fundraising for Food-Insecure Children with Pack the 'Pack Program
The BCTCares Foundation, supported wholeheartedly by the employees at Potomac Bank, has recently achieved a remarkable feat by raising $120,000 during its annual Pack the 'Pack campaign. This amount not only breaks the previous record of $104,000 set last year but also significantly contributes to the mission of helping feed food-insecure children and their families within the local community.
This campaign, which runs from July 1 to August 31 annually, partners with four local nonprofits dedicated to addressing the issues of hunger and food insecurity. Each of these nonprofits received a substantial donation of $30,000, collectively enabling the creation of over 11,000 food-filled backpacks, sufficient to sustain needy children for two days over the weekends.
The Pack the 'Pack initiative reflects a collective community effort, gathering contributions from clients, vendors, staff, and Board members of Potomac Bank, alongside generous donations from local citizens. Since its inception in 2019, the foundation has now contributed more than $601,000 to combat local food insecurity, emphasizing its commitment to nurturing the wellbeing of children in the communities served by the bank.
