Huawei Emerges as a Leader in Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Data Center Switching 2025
In a significant recognition,Huawei has been acknowledged as a leader in the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Data Center Switching for the year 2025. This accolade highlights Huawei's exceptional capabilities and advancements in data center networking, particularly noting its superior vision completeness. As enterprise needs evolve, Huawei aims to enhance its data center network solutions across three pivotal areas:
1. Enhanced Xinghe Intelligent Fabric Solution
Huawei’s revamped Xinghe Intelligent Fabric solution is designed on a tri-layer architecture encompassing AI Brain, AI Connection, and AI NE.
AI Brain serves as Huawei's exclusive digital mapping tool for networks and utilizes its sophisticated NetMaster model to facilitate automated deployment processes. This system integrates network security modeling and automates the troubleshooting of up to 80% of faults, which remarkably boosts operational efficiency and maintenance effectiveness.
AI Connection features an innovative Network Scale Load Balancing (NSLB) algorithm that improves channel planning, removes performance bottlenecks, and enhances AI training efficiency by over 10%. Furthermore, their tri-layer reliability technology, known as iReliable, along with resilient optical modules, ensures zero disruption during service interruptions.
AI NE involves Huawei’s CloudEngine switches and StarryLink optical modules, which deliver high precision in traffic awareness along with visualized monitoring of network packet loss and delays.
2. Next-Generation CloudEngine Switches
Huawei also introduced the CloudEngine XH9330, a dense Ethernet switch capable of 128 800GE ports, as well as the CloudEngine XH9230, designed to be the world’s first liquid-cooled switch with 128 400GE ports. These switches set a new industry benchmark by pushing the limits of AI cluster scalability. Moreover, Huawei’s proprietary iFlashboot technology allows for uninterrupted learning even during emergency reboots and updates.
3. Advanced StarryLink Optical Modules
At MWC 2025, Huawei showcased its StarryLink optical modules focusing on three essential capabilities:
- Coverage: Utilizing a unique optical channel binding algorithm to manage and optimize signal power distribution, achieving a transmission distance twice that of the industry average.
- Stability: Their patented optical loss positioning technology enables rapid identification of contaminated and unreliable optical connections within minutes, significantly faster than the industry standard (about three hours).
- Security: The PHYSEC capability embedded in the optical module's oDSP processor ensures 100% encryption of all packets, eliminating any risk of data leakage.
Looking Ahead: Corporate Network Expansion in the Age of Digital Intelligence
As we look to the future, Huawei is committed to advancing technology research and developing innovative products in the data center networks sector. By broadening their CloudEngine switch portfolio and supporting technological enhancements, Huawei aims to steer enterprises through the continuously changing landscape of network technologies, fostering a robust infrastructure for intelligent data transformation.
