In a proactive move to tackle the challenges posed by rising summer temperatures, Sanyo Shokai has unveiled its latest offering under the Paul Stuart Men’s brand. The new Floatable Sheer collection comprises two key items: jackets and pants made from an innovative sheer material. This collection was made available on May 21st at nationwide department stores specializing in men’s wear and through the Sanyo Online Store.

The Innovation Behind Floatable Sheer

The Floatable Sheer line was developed in response to the increasingly hot weather experienced in recent years. Designed using a unique sheer fabric, this line not only emphasizes a lightweight aesthetic but also promises a refreshing wearing sensation, crucial for business attire in sweltering conditions. Despite its airy fabric, the collection maintains an air of sophistication appropriate for formal settings.

This product line originates from a cross-company initiative known as the Product Development Committee, which began its work in May 2021. The committee aimed to devise an innovative summer business wear solution, ultimately leading to the creation of the Floatable series, which utilizes hollow yarn to maintain structural integrity while reducing weight significantly. As a result, by the 2024 Spring/Summer season, the Floatable jackets emerged as the top-selling item within the brand, sustaining its popularity through September due to continuous customer demand.

As we look ahead to the Spring/Summer of 2025, it has become evident that consumer requests for even lighter and cooler materials are on the rise. In response, the development team set to work evolving the original Floatable series, culminating in the introduction of the Floatable Sheer series. This decision comes as predictions for prolonged summers and heightened temperatures continue to loom, further emphasizing the need for comfortable business apparel.

Material: The jackets and pants are made from a highly breathable blend of wool and polyester, weighing a mere 165g/m. This lightweight set-up is crafted through a mix of SUPER120's wool—known for its long fiber length—combined with polyester fibers, ensuring that while the fabric remains thin and lightweight, it possesses sufficient durability suitable for quality business-wear.

Functionality: The Floatable Sheer collection achieves a remarkable level of lightness and airiness, exhibiting exceptional breathability, wrinkle resistance, and natural stretch. Moreover, the jackets are constructed without internal linings or shoulder pads, adopting an unconstructed design that emphasizes comfort.

Jacket Features: Includes static electricity prevention tape and odor suppressing tape along the sides for additional comfort and practicality.

Pants: The trousers feature an Adjustable Fit design, incorporating an elastic waistband to enhance comfort, ensuring that the garments are suitable for all-day wear without compromising on style.
