DB HiTek to Make a Strong Debut at electronica India 2026 Aiming for Market Growth
DB HiTek to Debut at electronica India 2026
DB HiTek, the leading pure 8-inch foundry in South Korea, has announced its participation in electronica India 2026, scheduled to take place in Bengaluru, India, from September 16 to 18. This event is South Asia's premier trade fair for electronic components, systems, applications, and related solutions.
The primary goal of DB HiTek's participation is to enhance relationships with local customers and expand its market presence in India. The company plans to showcase its key process technologies, including its flagship Bi-polar CMOS DMOS (BCD) process, and next-generation power semiconductors based on Silicon Carbide (SiC) and Gallium Nitride (GaN). Additionally, DB HiTek is set to create new business relationships with local fabless companies, further solidifying its foothold in the region.
With strong political backing from the Indian government and active investments, India's semiconductor ecosystem is experiencing rapid growth. Companies that have built businesses around chip design services are now venturing into the development of their own semiconductor products. This trend is expected to drive increased demand for foundry services. In response, DB HiTek has intensified its collaboration with Indian fabless firms, utilizing the trade show to establish connections with potential clients.
At the event, DB HiTek will focus on its process technologies for power semiconductors, an area where it has developed a competitive advantage. The company boasts a cumulative wafer shipment figure of 9 million for its BCD process and leverages its extensive experience in mass production and process expertise to expand into high-quality applications within automotive and industrial sectors.
In the realm of next-generation power semiconductors, DB HiTek will unveil its advancements in SiC and GaN processes, along with its roadmap for mass production. Recently, the company completed process qualification for its 1,200V SiC MOSFET and plans to finalize the qualification for its 650V GaN process by December 2026. Currently, performance evaluations for products utilizing these processes are underway with strategic clients.
Furthermore, DB HiTek will unveil various specialized process technologies, including X-ray, global shutter, single-photon avalanche diode (SPAD), and other specialized CIS (CMOS Image Sensor) technologies as well as mixed-signal and RF processes, aimed at broadening its customer base in the region.
A representative from DB HiTek mentioned, “India is a market where the rapid growth of local fabless companies and the semiconductor ecosystem is creating new business opportunities.” They added, “By participating in electronica India, we aim to strengthen our relationships with local customers and continue exploring new business possibilities based on our strengths in power semiconductors and specialized processes."
In summary, DB HiTek's debut at electronica India 2026 marks a significant step toward establishing stronger ties within the local semiconductor community, emphasizing collaboration and innovation in technology for the future market dynamics in the region.
