Cousins Maine Lobster Launches New Food Truck to Satisfy Seafood Lovers in Northwest Pennsylvania

Cousins Maine Lobster Expands Its Reach in Pennsylvania

Cousins Maine Lobster, a well-known name in the seafood industry, is broadening its geographical footprint in Pennsylvania with the recent addition of its second food truck. This exciting expansion is spearheaded by husband-and-wife duo Savas and Victoria Alkoc, who have operated a successful food truck in the Pittsburgh area for several years. As they continue to see a swell in demand for their high-quality Maine lobster offerings, they recognized the need to serve the growing seafood-loving community from Erie to Penn State.

The grand opening of the new food truck will take place on March 8 at the Whitehorse Brewery located at 824 Diamond St. in Berlin, Pennsylvania. This opening event is set to offer an opportunity for locals to enjoy some of the best lobster in the region while celebrating the launch of the truck.

The Alkocs have an impressive background in the food industry; they launched their first truck in 2017 and now manage a total of ten food trucks across several states, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Ohio. With a passion for providing fresh, Maine-sourced lobster, they aim to engage with local communities, create job opportunities, and introduce more people to their standout menu items such as signature lobster rolls, lobster bisque, New England clam chowder, and whoopie pies.

Co-owner Savas expressed enthusiasm about the growth potential in the area, stating, "We've built our business from the ground up, starting with one truck and expanding into multiple markets while staying true to our commitment to quality and service. After receiving such a warm welcome in Pittsburgh, we knew this region was the perfect place to add another truck and continue growing with Cousins Maine Lobster. There’s nothing quite like enjoying real Maine lobster, and we're excited to bring it to even more communities across Northwest Pennsylvania and beyond."

Cousins Maine Lobster prides itself on sourcing its lobsters sustainably, and the brand has gained a reputation for providing a gourmet fast-casual seafood experience. Founded in 2012, Cousins Maine Lobster gained national attention after appearing on Shark Tank, where they secured an investment from Barbara Corcoran. Since that moment, the brand has expanded significantly, earning accolades from various media outlets.

Angela Coppler, Head of Development at Cousins Maine Lobster, noted that the demand from seafood enthusiasts in Northwest Pennsylvania was a driving factor for this new food truck. "Through our conversations with Savas and Victoria, it was clear that the strong demand and enthusiasm from seafood lovers in the region made this truck the best place to expand next," she explained. The company believes in building ties to the community and looks forward to seeing the acceptance of their lobster offerings.

In conjunction with the expansion, Cousins Maine Lobster is introducing an exciting new addition to their menu: the Garlic Butter Lobster Roll, set to launch on March 21. This variation features warm Maine lobster drizzled with homemade garlic butter served on a toasted New England-style bun.
