MSA Safety Unveils New Innovations at National Safety Congress
MSA Safety, a leader in advanced safety products, has officially introduced two groundbreaking safety solutions during the 2025 National Safety Congress Expo held in Denver, Colorado. The newly launched products, the
V-Gard H2 Full Brim Safety Helmet and the
ALTAIR io™ 6 Multigas Detector, showcase MSA's commitment to enhancing worker safety with cutting-edge technology and design.
V-Gard H2 Full Brim Safety Helmet
The V-Gard H2 Full Brim Safety Helmet is the latest addition to MSA's head protection line. This helmet meets ANSI Type II certification and introduces features aimed at maximizing user protection. It includes an integrated chin strap to protect against lateral impacts, a crucial addition for preventing head injuries on job sites. Additionally, the helmet is compatible with nearly all existing V-Gard® accessories, making it a versatile choice for various work environments.
What sets the V-Gard H2 apart is its design, intended to offer extra protection against sun exposure and debris, ensuring that workers are shielded in precarious situations. Customization options are also available, allowing employers to showcase their branding through easy application of logos.
Moreover, the helmet extends MSA's innovative lineup that already encompasses Type I and Type II helmets, further solidifying its place as a frontrunner in safety headgear.
ALTAIR io™ 6 Multigas Detector
In parallel to the helmet, MSA Safety introduced the ALTAIR io™ 6 Multigas Detector, which is set to become part of the MSA Connected Work Platform. This six-gas detector is particularly designed for monitoring confined spaces and sampling applications, marking MSA's first cellular-connected gas detector that includes an integrated pump.
The ALTAIR io 6 comes equipped with MSA's XCell® sensors, a sizeable screen for enhanced visibility, and a removable rechargeable external battery. Its compact design allows for handheld use or can be worn, making it adaptable for a variety of job sites. This device is intended for use in demanding environments associated with construction, manufacturing, oil and gas, and utility markets.
A notable feature of both the ALTAIR io 6 and its predecessor, the ALTAIR io 4, is their shared user interface and compatibility with MSA Grid software. This integration simplifies the process for safety managers, allowing effortless connection and monitoring within their fleet of gas detectors. Through MSA Grid, real-time alerts and device locations are easily accessible, contributing to heightened safety management across worksites.
Stephanie Sciullo, President of MSA Americas, emphasized the company’s focus on meeting customer needs by providing innovative solutions that enhance protection and efficiency. "Expanding our offerings in portable detection and head protection helps MSA to remain a trusted partner in workplace safety," she remarked.
In addition to the helmet and detector, MSA Safety is also exhibiting its comprehensive range of fall protection solutions during the expo, including the V-SERIES® harness and personal fall limiters.
