Canon Marketing Japan Hosts Second GRAPHGATE Exhibition Highlighting Emerging Photographers

Canon's GRAPHGATE Exhibition: A Showcase of Emerging Talent



Canon Marketing Japan Co., Ltd. (CEO: Masayoshi Adachi) is thrilled to announce the upcoming second GRAPHGATE exhibition, featuring the works of five exceptionally talented individuals who were recognized during the second round of the GRAPHGATE audition—a program designed to discover and promote new photographic and video artists.

From August 19, 2025, the exhibition will take place across three Canon Galleries, showcasing one Grand Prize winner and four Excellent Prize winners. The Grand Prize winner, Erika Yamaguchi, will have a solo exhibition at Canon Gallery S in Shinagawa, Tokyo, while the Excellent Prize winners—Naoko Hasegawa, Koki Shinoda, Tsutomu Endo, and Sung Won Ok—will present their individual exhibitions at Canon Gallery Ginza and Canon Gallery Osaka.

Since its inception in 2023, GRAPHGATE has aimed to uncover and support passionate new talent in artistic fields. The second round concluded in 2024 with the selection of five artists, all of whom are set to present their works that delve deeper into their themes after the competition. This exhibition acts as a platform for the awardees to reflect on their creative journeys and articulate their aspirations for the future.

The GRAPHGATE exhibitions will be held at the following locations:

- Time: 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Closed on Sundays and holidays.

  • - Canon Gallery Ginza
- Time: 10:30 AM – 6:30 PM, Closed on Sundays, Mondays, and holidays.
- Address: 3-9-7 Ginza, Chuo City, Tokyo
  • - Canon Gallery Osaka
- Time: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Closed on Sundays, Mondays, and holidays.
- Address: 3-2-4 Nakanoshima, Kita Ward, Osaka

Admission to the exhibition is free for everyone.

Featured Artists and Their Works



Erika Yamaguchi - Grand Prize Winner

  • - Exhibition Dates: November 14 - December 16 (Canon Gallery S)
  • - Title: “Ecstatic Lovely”
Yamaguchi's works challenge the perceptions of reality, exploring the joys and fears of life. Their vibrant, occasionally chaotic presentations invite the audience to experience the world through her unique, endearing lens.

Naoko Hasegawa - Excellent Prize Winner

  • - Exhibition Dates: August 19 - 23 (Canon Gallery Ginza) & September 30 - October 4 (Canon Gallery Osaka)
  • - Title: “UNCERTAINTY / The In-Between”
Hasegawa’s exploration of space and time through photography disrupts conventional perceptions, underscoring the significance of existence and relationships in an ephemeral world.

Koki Shinoda - Excellent Prize Winner

  • - Exhibition Dates: August 26 - 30 (Canon Gallery Ginza) & October 7 - 11 (Canon Gallery Osaka)
  • - Title: “Portraits of 3/4 Ounce”
Shinoda captures the individuality and essence of animals, emphasizing their souls through portrait photography that serves as a compelling tribute to their existence.

Tsutomu Endo - Excellent Prize Winner

  • - Exhibition Dates: September 30 - October 4 (Canon Gallery Ginza) & November 11 - 15 (Canon Gallery Osaka)
  • - Title: “SHAKE-UP THE OLD FUTURE”
Endo’s work bridges past and present in snowboarding photography, capturing the communal spirit and evolution of this iconic sport through a historical lens.

Sung Won Ok - Excellent Prize Winner

  • - Exhibition Dates: October 7 - 11 (Canon Gallery Ginza) & November 8 - 22 (Canon Gallery Osaka)
  • - Title: “LIFE TODAY (Non) Daily Days”
Ok’s photography captures fleeting moments of loneliness and beauty within the mundane, challenging the viewer to recognize the extraordinary in everyday life.
