U.S. Army Awards Persistent Systems $87.5 Million for Advanced Command Technology

U.S. Army Boosts Command and Control with Persistent Systems

The U.S. Army has further strengthened its collaboration with Persistent Systems, LLC, a foremost innovator in mobile ad hoc network (MANET) technology, by awarding them a significant contract worth $87.5 million. This deal is aimed at enhancing the Army's Next-Generation Command and Control (NGC2) prototype, bringing the cumulative contracts awarded to the company for this project to a remarkable $121.5 million.

In a recent statement, the U.S. Army’s Capability Program Executive Command, Control, Communications, and Network (CPE C3N) announced this second order to expand the capabilities of the NGC2 prototypes. The decision follows a previous $34 million award granted to Persistent in October, which is expected to incrementally improve the Army's command and control systems.

Jon Patrick, Vice President of Business Development at Persistent Systems, explained the critical role of their technology: “Within the transport layer, our responsibility is to efficiently transfer all the necessary data across the battlefield. This ensures that crucial information reaches the warfighter when it is needed.” The enhanced capabilities promise to deliver faster information processing times and reliable access to critical data, enabling quicker decision-making processes, which is essential for effective command and control in military operations.

The MANET radios developed by Persistent Systems have proven to be indispensable components of the transport layer, boasting the speed, resilience, and capacity necessary for combat situations. Dr. Herbert Rubens, the founder and CEO of Persistent Systems, remarked, “Our team is committed to meeting the Army's increasing demands, providing robust transport solutions that empower mobile armored divisions.”

As Persistent Systems prepares to begin deliveries over the coming months, the focus remains on equipping the Army with advanced communication technologies that are anticipated to shape the future of military networks. The company's continuous innovation not only enhances operational efficiency but also underscores its dedication to supporting the Armed Forces.
