AMAMI TERRACE Food Workshops Featuring Rare Sutsuki Salmon and Local Sake in Tokyo

Exciting Culinary Workshops at AMAMI TERRACE



AMAMI TERRACE, a delightful café and workshop space located in Ako City, Hyogo Prefecture, is set to bring an exciting array of food workshops to Tokyo this June. The workshops will be held at the newly established "Tenshio Studio Tokyo" in Shinjuku, where participants will have the unique chance to explore the flavors of locally sourced ingredients, particularly salt, and the exquisite Sutsuki salmon.

Overview of the Workshops


The workshops will take place on three distinct dates:

1. June 4 & 5: Sutsuki salmon cooking demonstration.
2. June 11 & 12: Experience the pairing of local sake with salt.
3. June 18 & 19: Learn to make Tenshio pizza.

Sutsuki Salmon Cooking Demonstration


On June 4th and 5th, attendees will dive into the world of Sutsuki salmon, known for its rich flavor and unique qualities. The workshop will be conducted from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM and will feature:
  • - A session on how to use different types of salt in culinary applications.
  • - A live demonstration of various Sutsuki salmon dishes including:
- Salmon marinated in salt koji, miso, and sesame sauce, presented through a hands-on approach.
- Wrapped baked Sutsuki salmon.
  • - Participants will enjoy a luxurious lunch showcasing the savory delights of Sutsuki salmon.

Capacity: Limited to 12 participants
Participation Fee: 6,000 yen per person (to be paid in cash on the day of the event)
Registration Deadline: May 29, 12:00 PM

Local Sake and Salt Pairing Experience


On June 11th and 12th, join us for an exquisite experience that intertwines the elegance of local sake from Ako with the unique flavors of salt. This event will take place at the same time as the previous workshop:
  • - Participants will create three types of quick-pickled dishes using "Ako no Tenshio" salt.
  • - Enjoy tastings of local sake including "Chushin-gura" and "Otome".
  • - Learn how to pair these with delectable snacks for a complete culinary experience.

Capacity: Limited to 12 participants
Participation Fee: 6,000 yen per person (to be paid in cash on the day of the event)

Tenshio Salad Pizza Creation


Finally, on June 18th and 19th, experience the art of pizza making with our unique Tenshio flavors. The workshop will allow participants to create two types of pizzas:
  • - A session on how to make the dough and toppings will be provided, guided by an expert.
  • - Each participant will get to make their own two pizzas, with the option to take home the recipe.
  • - As part of the lunch, enjoy the beloved dish of lemon-marinated chicken, a long-time favorite in local schools.

Capacity: Limited to 12 participants

About AMAMI TERRACE


Located in a charming setting, AMAMI TERRACE has been dedicated to showcasing the deliciousness of Ako’s salt since its opening in March 2022. The café not only serves tasty dishes but also offers various workshops to engage the community in the culinary arts. The upcoming workshops will be held at the newly renovated Tenshio Studio Tokyo, a cozy venue that accommodates up to 24 guests, providing a perfect backdrop for a unique dining and education experience.
