Timber Pizza Co. Strengthens Maryland Presence with Two New Locations
Timber Pizza Co., a beloved franchise celebrated for its wood-fired pizzas and community-focused ethos, has recently unveiled plans for expansion in Maryland. This move includes the signing of a two-unit development agreement aimed at establishing outlets in Chevy Chase and Bethesda. This latest initiative marks an important step in Timber Pizza's ongoing growth strategy, particularly within the Mid-Atlantic region.
The agreement was established with Kyle and Carolyn McDonnell, a husband-and-wife team with deep roots in the area. Carolyn, originally from Kensington, and Kyle, who brings significant franchise experience to the table, are set to introduce Timber Pizza’s delicious offerings to the Montgomery County neighborhoods. This will be the brand's second location in Maryland, furthering its goal of achieving a total of 15 sites by the end of 2027.
In addition to its physical presence, Timber Pizza has made a name for itself through a fleet of mobile pizza trucks. These trucks have become a staple at weddings, corporate gatherings, community events, and festivals across Maryland and the greater DMV region, increasing brand visibility and fostering a loyal customer base that extends beyond just restaurant patrons.
Chris Brady, the President and co-founder of Timber Pizza, expressed enthusiasm for the new partnership, stating, "We’ve always believed in growing thoughtfully and intentionally. Kyle and Carolyn embody the type of franchise partners we’re looking for. They bring strong business experience, share our values, and understand the importance of creating restaurants that become true neighborhood gathering places. We’re excited to continue growing in Maryland with partners who are passionate about hospitality and community."
Kyle McDonnell’s background includes substantial experience in franchise operations, particularly in the hotel sector, and as a co-owner at Old Line Golf Club in Annapolis. Their partnership with Timber Pizza began years ago, originating when the company catered the grand opening for the golf club. What initially started as a business collaboration has since cultivated into a strong friendship with Chris Brady, allowing the McDonnells to experience Timber's commitment to quality and community engagement firsthand.
"For us, this was about finding a brand whose values aligned with our own. From the moment we met the team, it was clear that Timber Pizza Co. was building something unique," McDonnell commented. "The quality of the food, the focus on community, and the genuine relationships within the organization reassured us that this was the right opportunity for our family."
Currently, the McDonnells are on the lookout for ideal locations while collaborating closely with Timber Pizza's development team and real estate partners throughout the site selection process.
