Mitsubishi Motors Reports Impressive Q3 2025 Sales Figures
Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) has announced its third-quarter sales figures for 2025, indicating a significant achievement in the brand's market performance. During this quarter, MMNA recorded total sales of
19,647 vehicles, leading to a year-to-date total of
73,400 units sold, marking the brand’s second-best year-to-date performance over the past four years.
One of the most noteworthy highlights from this quarter is the
Outlander Plug-in Hybrid, which not only maintained its position as the brand's flagship model but also achieved a
quarterly sales record of 2,403 units. This represented a
5.4% increase year-over-year (YOY). September proved to be particularly fruitful, ranking as the second-best month in the model's history, following a robust performance in August, which occupied the third position.
The year-to-date sales of the Outlander Plug-in Hybrid also rose, with total units sold reaching
5,841, an increase of
5.9% compared to 2024. In addition, the redesigned Outlander model has continued to lead sales with
7,323 units sold this quarter, a significant number driven by its updated interior and a first-ever North American partnership with Yamaha for its audio system. The introduction of the all-new
Trail Edition package further emphasizes the brand's commitment to off-highway capability and adventure.
Other models showing positive performance include the
Eclipse Cross, which had a quarterly sales figure of
4,077 and a year-to-date total of
12,342, reflecting a substantial growth of
21.2% over last year. The
Outlander Sport also showed promising results, with
3,080 units sold in Q3 and a year-to-date total of
14,958, up
27.8% from 2024. However, the sales figures for the quarter were adversely affected by the discontinuation of the
Mirage and
Mirage G4 models, which had previously contributed to the overall sales performance.
Looking ahead, Mitsubishi Motors is optimistic about its core SUV lineup, predicting year-over-year increases for 2025. To capitalize on this momentum, MMNA has initiated its
Year-End Sales Event, providing
0% APR financing for 60 months on all new 2025 SUV models. This financing offer is set to enable customers to engage with the brand's refreshing lineup, making it a critical strategy for enhancing their market presence.
In addition to sales performance, MMNA made headlines when both the
Mitsubishi Outlander and
Outlander Plug-in Hybrid were jointly awarded
Green Car Journal’s 2026 Family Green Car of the Year, making history as the first time sister models received this prestigious title in the 21-year history of the award.
MMNA is progressing with its
Momentum 2030 business plan, which aims to introduce a new or significantly revised vehicle annually from 2026 through 2030. This plan also includes development partnerships with
Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. to create a battery electric vehicle (BEV) and an all-new SUV set for production at a U.S. facility. Furthermore, MMNA plans to launch its first
Gallery dealership in early 2026, focusing on accessibility and convenience by situating in high-traffic commercial areas.
As Mitsubishi Motors North America pushes forward, it aims to enhance its product offerings while ensuring robust customer engagement and satisfaction, solidifying its place in the competitive automotive market.
