New Japanese Dining Experience at Kiwami Japanese Food Hall in Manila

Exciting New Addition to Manila's Dining Scene

Oishies, a renowned Japanese food holding company, is set to elevate Manila’s culinary landscape with the grand opening of its third Hannosuke restaurant on June 25, 2025. This establishment is located within the highly popular Kiwami Japanese Food Hall at the SM Mall of Asia, the largest commercial complex in Asia. The company collaborates with the Standard Hospitality Group (SHG), which operates several Japanese dining concepts, to bring authentic Japanese flavors to an international audience.

About Hannosuke

The Hannosuke restaurant specializes in traditional Edomae Tempura and offers a variety of tempura dishes, including classic tempura rice sets and unique combinations with soba noodles. Celebrating the communal dining culture often seen in the Philippines, the menu features large sharing platters, perfect for groups, including shrimp, vegetable, and mushroom tempura assortments. This approach aligns with the local dining habits, making it a perfect fit for the vibrant food scene in Manila.

An Overview of the SM Mall of Asia

The SM Mall of Asia, which is situated in Pasay City, offers a spectacular view of Manila Bay and spans an impressive 60 hectares. With over 1,000 stores, including 150 restaurants, theaters, and even an ice-skating rink, it's considered one of the biggest shopping hubs in Asia. The mall is not just a shopping destination, but a complete entertainment complex. The Kiwami Japanese Food Hall enhances this variety by providing a curated experience of various Japanese culinary styles, all offered in a food court format.

The Kiwami Japanese Food Hall Experience

As part of the newly established Kiwami Japanese Food Hall, the Hannosuke will share space with other reputable Japanese dining formats, which includes ramen, yakitori, and sushi, all focusing on delivering an authentic Japanese dining experience. The SHG was founded in 2011 by John Marie Concepcion, establishing a foothold in the Filipino food market with the acclaimed Yabu House of Katsu. The group has successfully opened multiple stores that prioritize quality and authentic flavors, and this expansion signifies their commitment to growing the presence of Japanese cuisine in the region.

Future Expansion Plans

Oishies, which operates popular brands like Tsujita and Tanaka Soba, along with Hannosuke, is planning to continue its aggressive expansion in the Philippines. By collaborating with the Standard Hospitality Group, Oishies aims to introduce more establishments that showcase the best of Japanese food culture.

Visitor Information

The Hannosuke Kiwami Japanese Food Hall will operate from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily, without a planned closing day. There will be approximately 240 seats shared among the six dining concepts in the food hall, offering ample space for guests.
