Unisys Innovation Program 2025: Winners Announced
Unisys Corporation has officially announced the winners of its 16th annual Unisys Innovation Program (UIP), a noteworthy competition that invites engineering students in India to showcase their ingenuity. This year, the program recorded an impressive turnout with over 890 project submissions from a pool of 12,760 participants, reflecting the competitive spirit and innovative capabilities of the young engineers in the country.
The UIP aims to bridge the gap between theoretical education and practical application, allowing engineering students to collaborate with industry experts and tackle real-world challenges through their projects. This year's entries spanned eight diverse themes related to current business and technical issues, resulting in remarkable solutions.

First Place: RV College of Engineering

Project: Quantum Neural Network for Brain Tumor MRI Classification via Quantum Machine Learning

Overview: This project employs advanced Quantum ResNet and Q-attention technologies, achieving an impressive diagnostic accuracy exceeding 98% for brain tumors from lower-field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans. The innovation facilitates high-quality MRI analysis, particularly beneficial for facilities with limited resources, making the diagnostics more accessible and cost-effective.

Overview: This pioneering project integrates artificial intelligence to enhance vehicle performance by replacing traditional mechanical differentials. Project: Earbud-Based Electroencephalogram (EEG) Monitoring System

Overview: With a focus on unobtrusive brain monitoring, this project introduces a discreet wearable device capable of continuous EEG monitoring using dry electrodes. It features AI-powered seizure detection and multi-modal analytics, meeting the growing demand for effective neurological monitoring solutions in both healthcare and consumer markets.

Mike Thomson, CEO of Unisys, expressed his pride in the high level of creativity and technical prowess demonstrated in this year’s projects.
