On September 27 and 28, 2025, the much-anticipated international cooperation event, Global Festa Japan 2025, will take place. Organized by multiple agencies including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and JICA, this event is an opportunity for individuals and organizations to unite and support various international cooperation initiatives focused on sustainable development goals (SDGs).

What to Expect at the JCV Booth

At the event, the Japan Committee for UNICEF (JCV) will set up a booth (D043) where we will be launching several engaging activities aimed at fostering international cooperation and charity. Visitors are invited to drop by and learn how their participation can make a difference in supporting children in developing countries through vaccination programs.

Contribute Unused Postcards and Stamps

One of our main initiatives will be a collection drive for unused postcards and stamps. This is a simple yet impactful way to assist our mission:

- Unused postcards
- Unused stamps
- Incorrectly addressed postcards
- Used stamps (cut to ensure cancellation marks are intact)

Even old postcards or those that may have discolored over time are welcome! Just bring them to our booth and drop them into our designated collection box. Collected items will be exchanged for postage stamps, which will in turn help cover the mailing costs for important materials, receipts, and thank you letters related to our vaccine project. Each used stamp can fetch about 1,500 yen per kilogram, translating to needed funds for child vaccination support.

Easy Donation Options with Electronic Money

In addition to physical contributions, we are thrilled to announce that attendees can also make donations through electronic money or V points at our booth. By simply scanning a QR code, you can make a contribution starting from just 1 yen or 1 point. For instance, a donation of 20 yen can provide one child's vaccination against polio, while 100 yen can cover five children. Every little contribution helps us in our quest to protect children’s futures.

Addressing Critical Healthcare Issues

Each day, around 4,000 children tragically die from preventable infectious diseases such as polio, tuberculosis, and whooping cough in developing countries. This stark reality underscores the imperative of vaccination to safeguard children's lives and ensure their future.

Since our inception in 1994, JCV has partnered with UNICEF and numerous health ministries to deliver essential vaccines to children in need, impacting over 133 million lives. Thanks to the ongoing support of our donors, we were able to provide vaccines and cold-chain equipment valued at over 1.23 billion yen to countries like Myanmar, Laos, Bhutan, and Vanuatu in 2024 alone.
