Strengthening Ties: MBDA and AXISCADES to Boost Strategic Partnership

At the Paris Air Show 2025, leaders from MBDA and AXISCADES joined forces to announce their commitment to further solidifying their existing strategic partnership. MBDA, known for its cutting-edge defense systems, has aligned with AXISCADES, a prominent name in defense technology in India, to expand their collaboration in line with MBDA's long-term vision of 'Make in India.' This partnership not only highlights the growth of defense technology but also underscores the ongoing efforts to bolster India’s capabilities in the defense sector.

Strengthening Existing Collaboration

AXISCADES has long served as an Indian Offset Partner for MBDA, catering to both domestic and international needs with effective engineering solutions. The company has successfully been providing built-to-spec and built-to-print test benches tailored for MBDA's MICA missiles and their launch systems. Additionally, they facilitate Depot Level Maintenance for launchers, ensuring a high standard of maintenance and support, thus delivering high-quality and cost-effective solutions. With MBDA's expanding global operations, the collaboration is anticipated to significantly increase the volume of work between the two firms.

Expanding Scope

During the event, it was also revealed that the partnership would broaden to encompass new areas of collaboration. AXISCADES is already recognized for supporting major global aerospace Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and holds a robust relationship with India's Ministry of Defence. Their extensive capabilities in engineering and defense systems are expected to contribute significantly to MBDA's upcoming programs in India, effectively supporting the Indian Government's 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiative aimed at fostering self-reliance.

Dedicated working groups have been established to identify and define new potential areas for cooperation, ensuring the effective execution of these initiatives. This cooperative spirit is indicative of a robust partnership aiming at leveraging each other's strengths for mutual benefit.

New Facility at Aerospace Park

Taking their collaboration to the next level, AXISCADES plans to build a dedicated facility for MBDA at its new site in the Aerospace Park near Bangalore's Kempe Gowda International Airport. This state-of-the-art facility will encompass a test bench lab, missile launcher infrastructure, and all necessary equipment and trained personnel to ensure not just adherence to high standards but also exceptional delivery and ongoing support. Both companies are working meticulously to structure this partnership to yield long-term strategic and industrial value.
