Midas Introduces Innovative Store Concepts to Enhance Customer Experience Across North America
Midas, a renowned name in the automotive service industry, recently announced a significant stride in its retail strategy by unveiling two innovative store design concepts: Contemporary Industrial and Urban Modern. This initiative is part of their modernization effort aimed at enhancing customer experience as they continue to grow their operations across the U.S. and Canada. Effective from July 15, 2026, the new designs will be implemented in all upcoming construction projects as well as renovations, marking a pivotal point in the company's five-year strategic growth plan which commenced in 2023.
The designs aim to fundamentally transform how customers interact with Midas locations. According to Lenny Valentino, Jr., President and COO of Midas International, the new concepts were developed based on insights from both customers and franchisees. It reflects a commitment to the brand’s 70-year legacy and enhances vital aspects such as visibility, waiting areas, and overall store flow, all designed to accommodate the evolving preferences of consumers.
New Design Concepts
The Contemporary Industrial design is tailored for high-traffic suburban areas and locations near highways. This concept features bold signage, high-contrast branding, and an efficient layout ensuring functionality while attracting visitors. On the other hand, the Urban Modern design is ideal for denser, more pedestrian-friendly markets, showcasing large storefront windows and a retail-inspired interior for a welcoming atmosphere.
Both stores will include a six-bay inline layout, with a specific bay dedicated to Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), highlighting Midas's commitment to modern automotive technology.
In addition to structural improvements, the stores will have updated showrooms and enhanced visibility in service bays. The external architectural elements and modern signage will maintain the recognized Midas branding while refreshing its aesthetic appeal.
To ensure consistency across various locations, Midas is collaborating closely with franchise owners to guarantee that future building projects align with the new brand guidelines and standards. Paul Elliott, VP of Marketing, emphasized the importance of creating these intentional customer experiences, where interactions with Midas team members are more fluid, and waiting areas are adequately capacitated for customers and their families.
This restructuring comes as Midas has appeared on a growth trajectory, with an unprecedented number of new store openings this year, which marks its most considerable expansion in decades. The first instance of the Contemporary Industrial design is set to open early next year in Irmo, South Carolina. With over 1,200 locations operating in the U.S. and Canada, Midas aims to tap into emerging markets while reinforcing its operational footprint.
A Fresh Campaign
The announcement coincides with Midas's celebration of its 70th anniversary and a new national campaign entitled “Midas is The Best,” which has gained significant traction since its launch. Featuring notable actor William Zabka as a master technician, the campaign showcases Midas’s dedication to quality service. It has already achieved over 18 million views on YouTube, generating a strong response that sets the stage for the new store concepts.
Together, these initiatives reflect a robust brand refresh, focusing on how Midas presents itself in the market and how customers experience the brand upon entering. With a forward-looking approach and a commitment to customer service, Midas is poised to continue its legacy as a leader in the automotive care industry.
