Women in HVACR Unveils New Logo and Raises Funds for Women in the Industry
In a remarkable showcase of empowerment and community spirit, Women in HVACR (WHVACR) hosted its Step Into Your Power regional meeting in Houston, welcoming over 80 professionals from the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) sectors. This nonprofit organization is dedicated to fostering the growth and success of women in the traditionally male-dominated fields of HVACR.
A New Identity Reflecting Strength and Unity
During the event, WHVACR introduced a fresh logo featuring interlinked 'W's, symbolizing the strength and unity of women in the industry. This new emblem was unveiled at the welcome reception and serves to honor the unique strengths of each woman while promoting a supportive network. WHVACR President Jane Sidebottom highlighted the significance of the event in showcasing the talent and momentum of women throughout the HVACR industry. She stated that attendees had the opportunity to reflect on their personal and professional goals, offering a space for shared experiences and learning.
Fundraising for Future Growth
Beyond branding, the Houston meeting successfully raised over $18,000 to support WHVACR's continued mission. Several companies contributed to this achievement by sponsoring various aspects of the event. Notable sponsors included Hunton Distribution, Daikin Industries, Pipefitters Local 211, and The Sauermann Group, all of whom played vital roles in facilitating the event's success.
The keynote speaker, Angela Gargano, energized the audience with her insights on personal resilience, confidence, and growth. Local industry leaders, including Tanya Gaitz, owner of Gaitz HVACR, and Connie Schroder, director of residential product marketing at Daikin Comfort Technologies, shared valuable lessons from their careers, emphasizing the importance of community and mentorship among women in trades.
Interactive Experience and Unique Highlights
A distinguishable aspect of the event was its collaboration with The Ink Factory, which provided live visual note-taking, capturing key talks and discussions through illustrations. This creativity elevated the participant experience, allowing more engagement and catering to various learning preferences.
The day concluded with a registration drawing for a complimentary ticket to the upcoming 2026 Women in HVACR Annual Conference, Built for Speed, scheduled for late September 2026 in Indianapolis. Belinda Byers was drawn as the lucky winner, highlighting the event's community-focused spirit.
