CityKids Foundation Unveils Exclusive Collection Featuring Keith Haring's Landmark Artwork

CityKids Foundation Launches Limited-Edition Collection from Keith Haring

On October 21, 2026, the CityKids Foundation revealed a unique limited-edition fine-art collection inspired by Keith Haring's monumental 1986 artwork, CityKids Speak on Liberty. This substantial artwork, measuring an impressive 90 by 30 feet, is recognized as the largest piece created by Haring and showcases a collaboration with around 1,000 youths from across New York City.

The centerpiece of this iconic artwork is Haring's vast illustration of the Statue of Liberty. In an ambitious effort, young artists from all five boroughs came together at the Jacob Javits Center over three days to contribute hundreds of drawings, personal statements, names, symbols, and reflections—all responding to a fundamental question: What does freedom mean to you? One notable story from the creation process involved a teenage contributor asking Haring about the statue's crooked arm. Haring famously replied, "It's not crooked, it's wobbly — because liberty is wobbly," capturing the essence of the complexities surrounding freedom.

As America prepares for its 250th anniversary, the CityKids Foundation is thrilled to offer select moments from this monumental artwork as museum-quality fine-art editions for the very first time. The inaugural collection features four curated compositions: The Liberty Torch, The Face of Liberty, We The People I, and We The People II. Each piece is limited to just 100 numbered editions, along with collector sets, one-third-scale monumental canvas works, and an open edition showcasing the complete artwork.

This fine-art collection is produced in collaboration with Iconic Moments, a company known for its previous partnerships with significant art institutions such as Art Basel and the Norman Rockwell Estate, thus affirming the collection's value and artistry.

Laurie Meadoff, the founder of CityKids, expressed her vision for the collection, stating, "By transforming the original work into a carefully curated collection, we are not ending its story — we are multiplying it." This sentiment reflects the foundation's ongoing commitment to empower young people through art, providing them with a platform for self-expression and advocacy.

The proceeds from this special edition will not only commemorate Keith Haring's legacy but will also support the future initiatives of the CityKids Foundation, including the establishment of a School of Artivism. This innovative program will help the youth leverage art, storytelling, and media as vehicles for leadership and effecting meaningful social change.
