Limited Stay Plan at Homyokan Morikawa Bessou in Bunkyo, Tokyo

Unique Stay Experience at Homyokan Morikawa Bessou

A distinctive limited stay plan is now available at the Homyokan Morikawa Bessou, located in the Bunkyo district of Tokyo. This initiative is brought to you by Narrative Co., a company dedicated to preserving and revitalizing traditional houses across Japan. This exclusive plan allows guests to experience a unique overnight stay in a historic ryokan before it undergoes renovation work in the near future. Following the success of a recent overnight event held at the main building of Homyokan in November, we are proud to switch venues and provide an unforgettable experience in Morikawa Bessou. Guests are encouraged to visit the official website or social media for more details on reservations.

A Look Back in Time

Homyokan Morikawa Bessou was built during the peak of school trips in the 1950s as a traditional group ryokan. Its spacious entrance and a courtyard adorned with fall foliage offer visitors a glimpse into its rich history. The architectural design and masterful craftsmanship reflect a cultural heritage that continues to be valued today. Though the ryokan had shifted primarily to daytime use post-COVID, this stay plan proposes an exclusive chance for guests to enjoy the facility in its current state—a rare opportunity that should not be missed.

Itinerary Details

Upon arrival at Homyokan Morikawa Bessou, guests can check in between 15:00 and 17:00. Following check-in, a 45-minute guided tour of the facilities hosted by the innkeeper will commence at approximately 17:15. Guests are then invited to unwind in the expansive spaces of the ryokan, free to engage with the surroundings until curfew at 22:00. Start the next day with a breakfast featuring a unique Western-style menu—available exclusively to guests of this plan—served between 8:00 and 10:00, allowing for leisurely dining and fond memories to be made before checkout.
