Advantech and Intel Collaborate to Launch Ultra Series 3 Processors for Enhanced Edge AI Solutions

Advantech and Intel Join Forces for Next-Gen Edge AI Solutions

Advantech, a prominent player in the Industrial AIoT sector, has recently taken a significant step by incorporating Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 3 processors into its advanced line of industrial-grade motherboards and Edge AI computers. This collaboration marks an important milestone, further solidifying their long-standing partnership and paving the way for groundbreaking performance in artificial intelligence applications.

The Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, built on the innovative Intel 18A technology, promise to deliver outstanding AI capabilities, enabling a new era of intelligent, high-efficiency edge solutions. With an impressive processing power of up to 180 trillion operations per second (TOPS), these processors facilitate complex workloads like real-time defect inspection, predictive maintenance, and machine vision, all performed directly on industrial devices and embedded edge systems. This advancement significantly enhances decision-making speed, reduces cloud dependency, and optimizes total cost of ownership by lowering data transfer costs.

Miller Chang, President of Advantech's embedded group, highlighted the company’s commitment to providing edge-ready AI solutions by stating, “By integrating Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 3 processors into our Edge AI Computers, we empower our clients to scale AI solutions more efficiently and cost-effectively.”

These new processors are designed with integrated AI acceleration, and equipped with Intel Arc GPUs featuring up to 12 Xe cores. This allows them to deliver up to 50% improved graphics performance compared to previous generations. Such enhancements enable demanding AI applications, such as 3D inspections and high-resolution human-machine interfaces (HMIs), to operate seamlessly without requiring additional external GPUs, thus simplifying the integration process.

Advantech is set to revolutionize Edge AI technology through its next-generation Edge AI solutions powered by Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 3 processors. This innovation helps customers achieve greater computational density, ensures long product lifecycles, and increases operational efficiency.

Additionally, the integration is complemented by Advantech's EdgeAI SDK, which includes tools like GenAI Studio for developing custom large language models (LLMs), an inference kit for embedded AI optimization, and a management platform for extensive fleet updates. Innovations like the AIMB-234 motherboard and the ARK-2252 edge computer showcase the potential for real-time AI inference on critical applications, such as endoscopic video streams.

Dan Rodriguez, Intel's Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the Edge Computing Group, emphasized the transformational potential of this partnership by stating, “The marriage of Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 3 processors with integrated AI capabilities and Advantech's industrial knowledge unlocks superior AI performance at the edge. This allows our clients to implement smarter systems with enhanced efficiency, leading to better ownership costs.”

The collaboration between Advantech and Intel empowers innovators worldwide to adopt Edge AI technologies swiftly. They are creating a collaborative ecosystem that shares resources and practices, leading to faster development cycles, efficient deployments, and scalable intelligence at the edge. As this partnership unfolds, it sets a robust foundation for future advancements in AI and edge computing technologies, promising exciting developments ahead for industries reliant on these innovations.

In summary, Advantech's integration of Intel's cutting-edge processors into its industrial solutions signals a bright future for Edge AI, where data processing can become faster, more reliable, and significantly more accessible, ultimately enhancing productivity across various sectors.
