Trimble Unveils Groundbreaking AI Innovations at the 2025 Insight Tech Conference

Trimble Inc. has officially launched its latest AI-powered innovations at the 2025 Trimble Insight Tech Conference held in New Orleans. The event, which kicked off on November 16 and runs until November 18, features insightful discussions and showcases cutting-edge technology aimed at revolutionizing the transportation and logistics sector.

During the opening keynote, Trimble’s CEO Rob Painter and Senior Vice President of Transportation & Logistics, Michael Kornhauser, emphasized the importance of integrating collaborative technologies and artificial intelligence within the industry. Their vision is a transportation ecosystem that interconnects people, data, and workflows, creating a more efficient global supply chain.

Transformative Vision for Transportation

Rob Painter stated, "Trimble is modernizing and connecting our solutions and integrating data to create workflows that unlock customer productivity." This commitment seeks to unify the diverse players within the transportation sector — including shippers, carriers, brokers, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs) — into a cohesive platform, which transforms how logistics operations are performed.

Michael Kornhauser further elaborated that the modern demands of the transportation industry require intelligent and connected solutions. According to him, Trimble’s innovative applications utilize AI to enhance operational efficiency and productivity, providing significant advantages to companies within this competitive landscape.

Launch of Next-Gen Transportation Management System (TMS)

At this year’s conference, Trimble also introduced its next-generation Transportation Management System (TMS), described as the “central nervous system” of a smart transportation management ecosystem. The AI-driven cloud-native TMS is engineered to automate intricate workflows while delivering predictive insights essential for modern transportation operations.

The new TMS comprises seven distinct modules — Order, Capacity, Supply Demand, Status, Back Office, and Control Center — and incorporates AI functionalities tailored to various roles within the organization, from customer service representatives to leadership positions. This comprehensive solution can either serve as an end-to-end suite or as individual modules that can be integrated with existing Trimble TMS solutions.

Innovative AI Agents and Workflows

The conference showcased new AI agents and workflows designed to streamline operations across the connected transportation ecosystem. One standout feature is the Order Intake Agent, which efficiently processes orders sourced from various documents, including emails and PDFs, entering them directly into the TMS for further review. Additionally, the Road Call Agent is capable of assessing breakdown scenarios through natural language processing, instantly initiating a response from the roadside assistance team.

Moreover, an Invoice Scanning Agent has emerged to automate the processing of service invoices, relieving personnel from the burden of manual data entry, thereby allowing them to focus on tasks with higher value.

Expanded Integrations for Industry Challenges

In a bid to tackle industry challenges such as driver retention and procurement inefficiencies, Trimble has expanded its integrations with notable telematics systems like Platform Science, Geotab, and Samsara. The Trimble Fleet Hub was highlighted as an essential tool for enhancing mobile communications between office teams and drivers.

Furthermore, the Trimble Freight Marketplace addresses procurement challenges by utilizing AI to improve carrier vetting, simplifying freight sourcing, and optimizing capacity matching. This transformation has already begun to influence operational efficiency, as evidenced by partnerships with companies like Procter & Gamble.

Availability and Future Expectations

The Trimble TMS Order and Capacity modules are currently available for a trial evaluation period for clients utilizing the Trimble TMW.Suite TMS. The complete beta version of the end-to-end TMS is anticipated to launch in the first quarter of 2026. As for the AI agents and other innovative functionalities, these are expected to come online for existing customers by the same timeframe.

The 2025 Trimble Insight Tech Conference promises to be a cornerstone in showcasing technological advancements capable of shaping the future of transportation.
