Zoomlion to Establish a Cutting-Edge Aerial Work Platform Factory in Hungary

Zoomlion's Ambitious New Factory in Hungary

On February 21, 2025, Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science and Technology Co., Ltd. officially revealed plans to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for aerial work platforms in Hungary. This forward-looking initiative, cemented by an agreement signed the previous day, was unveiled at a press conference attended by the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Budapest.

The new factory will be strategically located in Tatabánya, an area noted for its advantageous position at the crossroads of major highway networks serving Eastern and Western Europe. This facility is expected to become a pivotal hub in improving logistical routes across the region. Once fully operational, it will substantially enhance Zoomlion's footprint in the European aerial work platform market, which is rapidly growing in demand.

Spanning approximately 250 mu (around 41.18 acres), the factory will be a collaborative effort between Zoomlion and CTP Group. The site will be outfitted with cutting-edge, digitally-integrated, and environmentally sustainable production technologies, enabling the manufacture of a diverse range of high-performance, low-emission aerial work platforms. By leveraging advanced manufacturing processes and equipment, the facility is well-equipped to meet the needs of both local and European markets.

In terms of economic impact, the establishment of this factory is anticipated to generate around 800 local jobs, thus contributing to the growth of the regional economy and enhancing employment opportunities. Furthermore, the initiative is expected to foster stronger collaboration with local supply chain partners, bolster synergy with nearby companies, and proactively develop a thriving local industrial ecosystem through an integrated, mutually beneficial partnership. This effort reflects Zoomlion’s commitment to supporting Hungary’s economic and social development.

In recent years, Zoomlion has aggressively pursued its global business strategy, adopting a ‘global village’ mindset while also emphasizing localized operations. The company has set up 10 research and development bases and manufacturing facilities internationally, distributing its products across more than 150 countries. Remarkably, over 50% of Zoomlion's revenues now stem from markets outside China.

Zhan Chunxin, the CEO of Zoomlion, expressed heartfelt thanks to all parties instrumental in bringing this project to fruition. He emphasized the company’s commitment to accelerating project implementation in line with its investment strategy, aiming for the factory to commence operations within the year.

This new venture not only signifies a significant step forward for Zoomlion but also highlights Hungary’s growing importance as an industrial hub within Europe. As the factory takes shape, it’s set to integrate sophisticated production techniques that prioritize sustainability and efficiency, showcasing Zoomlion's dedication to fostering innovation in the manufacturing sector.

Through this strategic investment, Zoomlion is poised to strengthen its presence in the European market, thus reinforcing its reputation as a leader in the heavy machinery sector while contributing positively to the local economy and community development.
