Keira L. Her career began after earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Purdue University in Calumet. Starting as a licensed practical nurse at just 20 years old, she quickly transitioned to a registered nurse, obtaining hands-on experience across various settings, including urgent care and home healthcare services. Her varied background provided a solid foundation for her eventual specialization in gastroenterology.

Ms. Bex later pursued a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in leadership and management from Western Governors University. Subsequently, she received her post-graduate certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Indiana Wesleyan University. Today, she is board-certified and licensed to practice in Indiana.

Professional Affiliations and Community Involvement



Since September 2025, Ms. Bex has been affiliated with prestigious organizations including the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she has a rich history of community service. Earlier in her career, she served as a health and safety nurse for the Lawrence County Health Department, demonstrating her commitment to public health. Additionally, she has volunteered with the American Red Cross and even worked as a firefighter with the Huron Volunteer Fire Department.

Keira credits her mentor, Mary Kinser, RN, for significantly influencing her career path in healthcare. She also acknowledges her mother, Diana, who is also a nurse, for serving as a constant source of inspiration and support throughout her professional journey.
