A Look into Auberge de Primavera
Established in 1996, Auberge de Primavera is a French-style auberge that allows guests to indulge in local cuisine while residing in its elegantly designed rooms. Known for attracting local vacationers and celebrities alike, the auberge has a cozy yet sophisticated dining space adorned with handpicked wallpapers and tapestries sourced from Paris. Here, guests can appreciate not only fine dining but also the natural beauty that surrounds the establishment. The accommodations are set to welcome guests ahead of the restaurant's reopening planned for autumn 2025.
Unique Design of the Rooms
Each of the 11 guest rooms has been individually designed, featuring a range of styles that appeal to diverse tastes. The
maisonette-style rooms come with double-height ceilings and can comfortably house up to four guests. The ambiance is carefully crafted to evoke the serenity of a Parisian atelier or a vineyard in Bordeaux, with a seamless infusion of classic charm and modern aesthetics. Antique lighting fixtures sourced from early to mid-20th century France embellish each room, creating a luxurious atmosphere ripe for relaxation. Natural materials are incorporated to harmonize with the surrounding lush greenery, emphasizing the region's unique natural character.
Art Collection
Art holds a special place at Auberge de Primavera; each room is adorned with unique pieces, including lithographs from renowned 20th-century artists like Marc Chagall and Léonard Fujita. These artworks contribute to the tranquil ambiance, resonating softly with the peaceful atmosphere that Karuizawa offers.
Our Vision
The founders' deep admiration for the aesthetics of French auberges, cultivated through visits to Bordeaux and Paris, resonates throughout the auberge. Careful selection of antique lighting and furnishings reflects a desire to blend each piece gradually into the serene environment of Karuizawa. Guests are encouraged to leave behind the hustle of daily life and indulge in their getaway fully.
Room Features
The 11 guest rooms, each with an area of 45 square meters, emphasize individuality and comfort. All rooms are junior suite types, offering options such as pet-friendly accommodations, private sauna facilities, loft-style rooms, and connecting rooms that are perfect for families traveling together.
