SINEXCEL's StellaON Receives TÜV SÜD Certification for German High Voltage Networks
In a significant advancement for energy systems in Germany, SINEXCEL (300693.SZ) has successfully secured a TÜV SÜD certification for its energy conversion systems (PCS) known as StellaON 1250K/1575K. This certification confirms compliance with essential German standards, namely VDE-AR-N 4110, 4120, and 4130, which relate to medium, high, and extra-high voltage networks.
The certification process involved an in-depth evaluation conducted by TÜV SÜD, which tested the converters' behavior during network disturbances, their handling of active and reactive power, and their responses to frequency variations. The certification included FGW TR3 testing alongside validation of the simulation model TR4, as part of the TR8 program, providing a comprehensive assessment of the converter's operation.
The standards validated by TÜV SÜD apply to installations connected from distribution grids to transmission systems. Specifically, VDE-AR-N 4130 pertains to networks operating at voltage levels of 220 kV and above, focusing on the stability of the broader energy system.
The capabilities of the StellaON 1250K/1575K are impressive, featuring a black start capability and achieving a remarkable efficiency of 98.5% at full load. It retains its rated output power even in ambient temperatures reaching 55°C without derating. Furthermore, it can deliver 1.5 times its rated power for 60 seconds, showcasing its robustness under critical conditions. The system incorporates variable speed cooling to maintain noise levels below 65 dB, making it suitable for installations where acoustic constraints are a factor.
For developers and EPC contractors, this certification is vital as it aids in the selection of PCS and the development of precise technical specifications for relevant connection voltages, providing a framework for plant certification and connection approvals. The design and network requirements for individual projects will still undergo separate assessments at the station level.
StellaON has already undergone certifications within the EU and has obtained national certifications in Germany, Poland, Romania, and various other markets. The system is earmarked for deployment in Romania, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. Certification efforts are also underway in the United States, Spain, Austria, and Chile, expected to conclude by the end of 2026.
To date, more than 15 StellaON projects are in various stages of system integration, delivery, or onsite commissioning across Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, and Africa, with orders exceeding 500 MW in the first half of 2026. The PCS has undergone evaluations across multiple countries, including Vietnam and Myanmar, under severe heat and humidity conditions, as well as in island microgrids.
