On March 11, 2025, CB&I was honored to receive five safety accolades and three Tank of the Year awards from the Steel Tank Institute/Steel Plate Fabricators Association (STI/SPFA) during their annual meeting held in Hilton Head, SC. The STI/SPFA, a nonprofit trade group, celebrates excellence within companies specializing in steel tanks, pipes, and pressure vessels across various sectors.
The awards presented to CB&I recognize significant achievements in safety, which is a cornerstone of their operational philosophy. Notably, two of CB&I's business units were recognized with Safety Awards of Excellence for recording zero OSHA Recordable Incidents throughout 2024. Furthermore, an additional three business units achieved Safety Awards of Achievement by demonstrating at least a 10% reduction in their OSHA Recordable Incident rates compared to the previous three years. These accolades underscore CB&I's unwavering commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and operational excellence.
The company also secured the esteemed Tank of the Year recognition in three out of eight categories. The recipients were:
- - ASME Award: Comprising four 87'-9" diameter LPG spheres designed to hold 60,000 BBL at a pressure of 290 psi in the Dominican Republic.
- - API 620 Award: A 12-million-gallon double-wall, single-containment LNG tank located in Ixonia, WI.
- - Repair and Modification Award: A complex dismantling and re-erection project involving two 75'-5" diameter spheres based in Cuenca, Ecuador.
