Netskope Unveils AI Fast Path Technology Reducing Network Latency by Up to 90%

In a bold move to push the boundaries of cloud and AI security, Netskope (NASDAQ: NTSK) has announced the latest performance outcomes of its AI Fast Path technology, designed to enhance network efficiency for corporate clients. On July 21, 2026, Netskope revealed the groundbreaking results achieved through continuous innovations in its NewEdge AI Fast Path technology.

The AI Fast Path technology, part of the Netskope NewEdge private cloud, optimizes the network pathways between users, sites, agents, and AI endpoints. This optimization enables users to obtain inference results more promptly while minimizing the First Token Time (TTFT). As a direct result, complex AI workflows that involve multiple prompts are accelerated, and the performance of large language models (LLMs) when dealing with substantial datasets is significantly enhanced. Tests conducted over the global NewEdge network with actual traffic confirmed that the latency to key AI endpoints can be reduced by as much as 90% with the AI Fast Path.

Presently, more than 80% of leaders in Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) express uncertainty regarding whether their existing teams and budgets can satisfy the demanding performance, resilience, and security standards increasingly required in the AI era. Amidst these challenges, AI Fast Path has proven its capability to significantly minimize AI traffic latency by combining extensive peering with continuous, automated route optimization. This technological advancement allows organizations to access AI quickly and securely, without compromising on performance due to dependencies on public internet or third-party infrastructure.

According to Frank Dickson, Vice President of Security and Trust at IDC, "Netskope’s optimization capabilities eliminate the network loads associated with AI. As traffic transitions from simple inference to complex agent-based workflows, this load is set to rise even further. By reducing delays, NewEdge AI Fast Path prevents the costly idling of expensive GPUs and alleviates bottlenecks in computational processing."

Enhancing Network Telemetry with AI Performance

Netskope's suite of security, networking, and AI services operates through its private cloud infrastructure, Netskope NewEdge, which comprises over 120 data centers across 80 global regions. Each NewEdge data center is designed to deliver complete computing capabilities along with all Netskope services, including Netskope One SASE and Netskope One AI Security. As of June 2026, NewEdge maintains over 750 Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs) and more than 12,000 network connections, which include direct peering with major AI endpoints. This dense peering positions NewEdge among the largest networks participating in global internet exchanges (IX), rivaling hyperscale networks like AWS, Google, and Microsoft.

AI Fast Path is offered to Netskope customers as part of the Netskope One platform and integrates the extensive peering of the NewEdge network with proprietary Route Control technology that continuously analyzes network conditions. NewEdge analyzes millions of network routes daily, evaluating metrics like latency, jitter, and packet loss to identify the fastest and most reliable pathways, automatically rerouting traffic as superior routes become available.

Moreover, AI Fast Path takes into account unique metrics associated with AI traffic, including TTFT, continuous token generation rate, time per output token (TPOT), and the proportion of round-trip time that contributes to overall AI processing delays, alongside factors like AI provider response times and geographical variances. Not only does AI Fast Path enhance customer AI performance, but it also strengthens network resilience and availability in the event of unexpected incidents, including:

  • - Surge in traffic due to changes in internet 'weather' conditions
  • - ISP connection failures caused by congestion or fiber cable cuts
  • - Failures in AI provider infrastructure or cloud services

In such scenarios, Route Control ensures that traffic is rerouted automatically around problem areas. This supports a consistent digital experience for users, sites, and agents utilizing AI applications, even when the underlying internet environment is unstable. The path control can prevent severe impacts, especially in demanding AI use cases such as high-speed financial trading applications, medical scans for detecting life-threatening anomalies, or smart sensors that trigger security alerts.

Joe DePalo, Netskope’s Chief Platform Officer, states, "Whether a user is entering a prompt into a chatbot or an autonomous agent is making multiple LLM calls in succession, the speed of AI workflows is dictated by the performance of the underlying network. Netskope is recognized as a market leader not only in AI security but also in the realm of network performance that supports optimal AI workflows. With NewEdge, our customers can realize the speed required for AI workflows without assuming unnecessary risks or compromising user experience."

The numerical data for Route Control and NewEdge Traffic Management was collected from NewEdge telemetry data between June 5 and June 12, 2026. The claim of reducing latency by up to 90% is based on test results conducted during this period to a representative AI endpoint from a single NewEdge data center, with actual results varying according to the region of use and network conditions. Unique performance metrics for AI (TTFT, TPOT, throughput, proportion of delays attributable to the network, P95/P90 ratios, and coefficients of variation between geographies) are derived from ongoing synthetic monitoring at the endpoints of AI providers.

This press release is based on a public announcement made on July 21, 2026 (US time) and provides insight into the significant advancements of Netskope in the realm of AI traffic management and network optimization.
