Quasar Medical Launches its Global Headquarters in Singapore to Drive Medical Innovation

Quasar Medical Opens New Global Headquarters in Singapore

Quasar Medical, a prominent player in the manufacturing of interventional and minimally invasive medical devices, has officially inaugurated its Global Headquarters in Singapore. This significant development, announced on July 29, 2025, reaffirms Quasar's dedication to driving medical innovation on a global scale.

Initially founded in Hong Kong in 1988, Quasar Medical has operated from there until now, maintaining comprehensive business operations as it transitions to Singapore. This relocation strategically places the company at the forefront of Asia's MedTech ecosystem, a region recognized for its advancements in medical technology and healthcare innovations. The new headquarters is housed in a two-floor facility that expands Quasar's footprint by an additional 7,000 square feet, complementing the existing 35,000 square feet. The design of the new space promotes enhanced collaboration among teams, accelerates innovation processes, and addresses the diverse needs of customers worldwide.

Alex Wallstein, CEO of Quasar Medical, remarked on this transition, stating, "Establishing our Global Headquarters in Singapore reflects our commitment to operating where innovation thrives. Singapore serves as a major MedTech hub with leading research institutions and top talent. This strategic move will hasten our ability to deliver advanced catheter technologies that shape the future of minimally invasive care."

The new headquarters showcases several improvements in manufacturing capabilities, including enhanced extrusion, braiding, balloon manufacturing, and advanced assembly automation. With cutting-edge inspection systems in place, Quasar is better positioned to ensure high-volume production and customized catheter solutions while maintaining exceptional quality control and a flexible supply chain.

The Singapore headquarters will function as the nexus for Quasar's global operations, backed by a local workforce of approximately 180 employees. The company anticipates that this number will surge past 300 within three years, fueled by an ambitious growth strategy and Singapore’s expanding talent pool. The establishment of operations in Singapore highlights Quasar's lasting commitment to the region and aligns with its long-term strategic vision in medical device manufacturing.

Erik Trip, Site Leader at Quasar, expressed enthusiasm about the move, stating, "This transition marks an exhilarating new era for Quasar in Singapore. We are ramping up advanced operations, developing a robust local workforce, and creating numerous career opportunities to solidify Quasar's standing as an employer of choice within the Singapore MedTech landscape."

The Singapore Economic Development Board also welcomed Quasar Medical's choice to set its Global Headquarters in the city-state. Ms. Cindy Koh, Executive Vice President, stated, "Singapore is pleased to host Quasar Medical's Global Headquarters while expanding its manufacturing and innovative capabilities. This investment strengthens Singapore's reputation as a premier global MedTech hub where healthcare companies can leverage our ecosystem and skilled workforce to develop and deliver quality medical devices to the global market."

The launch of the new headquarters underscores the remarkable achievements Quasar has realized over its 38-year journey. It sets a solid foundation for the future, emphasizing the importance of connecting people, partners, and innovative ideas to provide enhanced medical device solutions that improve lives worldwide.

Quasar Medical operates as a global Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO), delivering comprehensive solutions for interventional and minimally invasive medical devices. With 10 facilities across Asia, North America, and Europe, Quasar excels in catheter systems, balloon technologies, micro-EM sensors, and complex assemblies. They emphasize cost-effective scalability while ensuring rapid speed to market. The headquarters in Singapore will allow Quasar to provide fully integrated device solutions, from design and prototyping to scalable manufacturing.
