Ginza Ten-Ichi x Nagahama Distillery: The Launch of TEN-ICHI ORIGINAL Batch.2



Ginza Ten-Ichi, a renowned tempura restaurant established in 1930, has partnered with Nagahama Distillery, located in Shiga Prefecture, to introduce their second collaboration whiskey: TEN-ICHI ORIGINAL Batch.2. This original blend, developed with a focus on enhancing the dining experience with tempura, will be available at Ginza Ten-Ichi locations starting April 1, 2026.

Quest for Perfect Harmony


The initiative began with a shared vision between Ginza Ten-Ichi and Nagahama Distillery to craft a whiskey that pairs ideally with tempura. After numerous tastings and refinements, this singular whiskey emerged as a crowning achievement. Chief Blender Yusuke Yakushima drew inspiration from the dining experiences at Ten-Ichi’s main branch, while Ten-Ichi President Tomokazu Yabuki emphasized creating a whiskey with both crispness and harmony under sommelier Masaki Yamamoto’s guidance. The result? A whiskey that seamlessly cleanses the palate of tempura oil while highlighting its flavors, promising an ideal drinking experience.

Batch.2: Deeper Complexity and Robust Flavor


Following the outstanding success of the first batch in March 2025, which sold out rapidly within a year, the new batch aims to deepen the whiskey's complexity. The second release offers a richer and more sumptuous aroma, enhancing flavor synergy with each bite of tempura from the first sip to the last drop, ensuring new discoveries await throughout the experience.

Starting in April, customers can indulge in the unique flavor profile of Batch.2 at all Ten-Ichi restaurants nationwide. An intriguing menu option will allow guests to compare this batch with its predecessor, showcasing the differences in their taste profiles.

Thoughtfully Designed Blend


The new blend boasts a delicate golden hue, featuring Armagnac cask spirit as its base. This base is complemented by the vibrant aroma of dried fruits from sherry quarter casks, along with subtle sweetness reminiscent of vanilla and honey, resulting in an even more profound and complex fragrance than its predecessor. Additionally, peated whiskey from the Nagahama Distillery enhances the blend without overshadowing the meal, revealing a variety of expressions over time, suitable for enjoyment neat or as a highball.

Elegant Presentation


In contrast to the previous installment's dainty white label, Batch.2 flaunts an opulent black label that conveys richness and depth. With gold lettering that exudes sophistication, the label also features the inscription "Limited No.2," marking it as a special release.
